NBA DFS DraftKings Values | 10/18/17
What’s up, GF2 fans! I’m back at it again this season bringing you guys some solid NBA values for the Wednesday night slate of games! This slate will consist of a solid 11-game schedule to play with. Each week the majority of my value plays will be at or under the $6,000 price range. I’m ecstatic that the NBA season is back, so let’s get the party started.
Point Guard
Darren Collison, vs. BKN ($5,800)
I’m really intrigued to see how this Indiana offense is going to look like without Paul George in 2017. Collison is slated to be the starting point guard for the Pacers and will more than likely be relied on to score some points for his squad. He’s coming off a season where he averaged 25.1 FPPG for his owners and draws a juicy matchup. Last season, the Nets ranked 30th overall at defending against opposing point guards.
Yogi Ferrell, vs. ATL ($4,500)
With Seth Curry on the shelf for Dallas, the starting point guard job will be Yogi’s to lose this year. In 2017, Ferrell seemed to shine some games and fade into the abyss in others. I’m hoping that he starts off as hot as he did last season though in a nice matchup versus Atlanta. Last season, the Hawks ranked 23rd overall at defending against opposing point guards.
Shooting Guards
Rodney Hood, vs. DEN ($5,800)
Last season, I really enjoyed streaming guards against this fast-paced Nuggets squad. Well, I’m going to continue that trend this year with Hood in a killer matchup. Yes, he’s somewhat volatile from time to time but he’ll be worth the game on Wednesday evening. Last year, the Nuggets ranked 29th overall at defending against opposing shooting guards. If Hood can just get his average minutes from last year at 26.4 a game, he’ll have a shot to flourish for this slate.
Evan Turner, @ PHO ($5,500)
Most seasons it’s hard to find a solid value play at the shooting guard spot. Regardless of how many games are on the slate, the position is usually pretty bare. Well, for this slate, Turner can play at either shooting guard or small forward, which gives him some value. He’s looked good in the preseason, shooting 50% from the field and draws a nice matchup against the Suns. Last season, Phoenix ranked 11th against opposing shooting guards.
Small Forwards
Dario Saric, @ WAS ($5,700)
I feel like Saric is vastly under-priced for his multi-faceted abilities on the basketball court. The guy can literally score fantasy points in numerous different ways. Last season, Saric averaged 13.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 26.2 minutes per game for the Sixers. He’ll be facing off against a Wizards squad that ranked 26th overall last year against opposing small forwards.
Harrison Barnes, vs. ATL ($5,700)

I’m kind of nervous that I’ve got two Dallas Mavericks players in this column due to their lackluster offensive abilities from a year ago. I personally just think that a guy such as Barnes can do some damage in this matchup for this slate. He’ll be squaring off against an Atlanta defense that ranked 20th overall at defending against opposing small forwards last season. Last year, Barnes managed to average a cool 29.3 FPPG for his loyal fantasy owners.
Power Forwards
Willie Cauley-Stein, vs. HOU ($5,900)
Cauley-Stein should see plenty of minutes once again this year, backing up both the starting power forward and center. He has the ability to pull off a double-double caliber game on any given night. Luckily for us, the Kings are taking on a Rockets squad that gives up plenty of rebounds to their opponents. Last season, Houston ranked 23rd defending against opposing power forwards.
Marquese Chriss, vs. POR ($5,100)
One of the obvious tactics with NBA DFS is picking the higher-paced games to target for your lineups. Well, this game should be one of the faster-paced ones and I love Chriss’ price tag. He’s got at least 5x capability in a killer matchup against the Blazers. Last season, Portland ranked 28th overall at defending against opposing power forwards. Chriss has had a great preseason in 2017, scoring in double digits his last three outings for Phoenix.
Center
Clint Capela, @ SAC ($5,800)
Capela always seems to be a viable value play at center every single year for the Rockets. Houston just never really has too many big men who can get a rebound, which gives Capela the edge. Last year, he averaged a solid 27.5 FPPG for his owners and draws a tasty matchup for Wednesday night. Last season, Sacramento ranked 25th overall at defending against opposing centers.
Marcin Gortat, vs. PHI ($5,200)
Like Capela, Gortat gets plenty of playing time due to the lack of quality big men in Washington. Last season, he managed to average a decent 28.3 FPPG for his owners and draws a nice matchup for this slate of games. Last year, the Sixers ranked 28th overall at defending against opposing centers.
