DFS NBA FanDuel Lineup Builder Spreadsheet 10/23/17 *Updated*
*updated*
Tonight we have a nice sized eight-game slate and some good matchups to work with. For those new to the spreadsheet, please take a minute to watch the video embedded on the spreadsheet to explain how it works.
I’m still currently using DFN projections for the spreadsheet, but once every team gets five games under their belts I’ll start using real-life averages instead. At the time of posting this, the optimizer wasn’t ready yet, so I will upload the optimized lineups mid-day on Monday, so be sure to check back if you don’t see them.
I’m going to start giving some quick bullet points of the things I see when I look at the sheet. Here is the sheet, and my breakdown below…
I updated the spreadsheet with new projections and the optimized lineups.
NBA FanDuel Lineup Builder Spreadsheet 10/23/17
- Dirk Nowitzki as the second best play of the day? Not sure I trust it, but I will have him in some lineups because the sheet is right more often than not. (No longer the No. 2 overall play with the update, but still a good value)
- John Wall has what I call the trifecta. He has the “Best” grade, three thumbs up matchup, and he is playing is the highest O/U on the slate. Lock him in.
- My favorite value on the slate has to be Tyreke Evans. It’s a “pace up” game for the Grizzlies, who are still one of the slowest paced teams, and Houston still doesn’t play much defense.
- Joel Embiid has yet to play the Detriot Pistons in his career, but look for him to be aggressive after being forced to sit out on Saturday.
- On the other side, Andre Drummond is a good play. The Sixers are not good at interior defense, in fact, through the first few games they are giving up 60 FanDuel points to opposing centers.
- Look for Mike Conely to bounce back after his poor performance in his last game.
- James Harden is taking a hit on his grade because of the “pace down” nature of the Grizzlies, but keep in mind, Harden dropped two 60-plus FanDuel point games on Memphis last season.
- Buddy Hield is another good value playing a Suns team that just fired their coach. There will be tons of shots taken in this one, and Hield isn’t shy.
- Harrison Barnes continues to be the one of the top SFs, but I’m done with him. Eventually, his grade will start to come down, DFN seems to love Barnes and keeps projecting him high.
- You are either going to pay up for Kevin Durant at SF or go value. This position is ugly tonight.
- If Hassan Whiteside is out, James Johnson makes for an elite play. The Hawks are the sixth worst team defending the power forward position and they aren’t much better at defending the center either.
- Even though Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid have a higher grade, I think I like Marc Gasol again tonight.
