Fantasy Football Week 10 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense
Bye weeks are winding down on the 2017 NFL schedule, and four teams are idle in Week 10 (Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles). That takes a lot of good options off the table for fantasy football owners this week, so streaming still stands as a possible strategy.
Here are my Week 10 streamers at quarterback, tight end and team defense.
Quarterback: Eli Manning, New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers
It’s odd to put Manning on this list, but it’s where we are this season. He has not even topped 230 passing yards in four straight games, and he’s only reached that mark three times in eight games overall. There’s some buzz about Manning being benched as a lost season winds down, but he is one start shy of moving into a tie for the second-most consecutive starts all-time and it’s hard to see the move happening this week.
Manning has a get-right opportunity, if only for a week, on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers have allowed the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks (19.6 per game; ESPN scoring), with multiple passing touchdowns allowed in four straight games despite just 31.5 pass attempts against them per game over that span.
Manning is a solid bye week fill-in, streaming option or second starter in two-quarterback leagues this week, with a matchup too good to ignore.

Others To Consider: Josh McCown, New York Jets vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Jacoby Brissett, Indianapolis Colts vs. Pittsburgh Steelers; Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams vs. Houston Texans (check ownership); Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New York Jets; C.J. Beathard, San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants; Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Tight End: O.J. Howard, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New York Jets
Howard has been up (three touchdowns) and mostly down (seven games with two or fewer catches) this season, as Cameron Brate has been Tampa Bay’s top tight end. But there’s an opportunity for both to contribute in Week 10.
After blindsiding Saints cornerback Marcus Lattimore in Week 9, Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans will be suspended for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. So there’s a significant target share available, and the Jets are bottom-10 in the league against tight ends this year (ESPN PPR scoring) with at least six receptions allowed to the position in five straight games (12.7 yards per catch).
Howard is a major dart throw. But the pickings are pretty slim for viable tight end streamers this week, and he’s in line to make the most of his opportunities.

Others To Consider: Garrett Celek, San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants; Austin Hopper, Atlanta Falcons vs. Dallas Cowboys; Ed Dickson, Carolina Panthers vs. Miami Dolphins (Monday night); Vernon Davis, Washington Redskins vs. Minnesota Vikings
Team Defense: New England Patriots, at Denver Broncos (Sunday night)
The Patriots were much better defensively heading into their Week 9 bye, allowing 17 points or less in four straight games with at least nine fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring) in each of their last three.
The Denver Broncos switched to Brock Osweiler under center in Week 9, with results that looked similar to what went on previously (16 offensive points, three sacks allowed, two interceptions). But he’ll get at least one more start against the Patriots on Sunday night, and the New England defense is set up to succeed.
The Patriots defense is widely available coming out of a bye week. Their momentum will not stop against the Broncos in Week 10.
