Fantasy Football Week 16 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense
It’s championship week in most fantasy football leagues, or for others a consolation bracket may be at stake. Either way filling a lineup is still in play for a lot of fantasy owners, and streaming quarterbacks, tight ends and defenses is still on the radar.
With that, here are my Week 16 streamers at quarterback, tight end and team defense.
Quarterback: Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens vs. Indianapolis Colts (Saturday)
Flacco has been on a nice run lately, throwing for 269 yards in both Week 13 and Week 14 before topping that with 288 passing yards last. He has accounted for multiple touchdowns in all three games as well, and he’s set to take advantage of a favorable matchup in Week 16.
The Indianapolis Colts have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks (17.9 per game; ESPN scoring), and if not for a snow game against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14 they’d be even worse. As it is they allowed three total touchdowns to Brock Osweiler in Week 15, and two of their last three games they’ve allowed over 25 fantasy points (ESPN scoring) to quarterbacks.
Flacco, much like his 2012 real-life playoff run, is playing well at an important time of the season. Among some solid streaming options at quarterback this week, I’m going with the former Super Bowl MVP.

Others To Consider: Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars at San Francisco 49ers; Nick Foles, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Oakland Raiders (Monday night); Tyrod Taylor, Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots; Case Keenum, Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers (Saturday night); Eli Manning, New York Giants at Arizona Cardinals
Tight End: Eric Ebron, Detroit Lions at Cincinnati Bengals
Ebron has had another disappointing season, but over the last two games he has 15 receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown on 18 targets. That’s a 23.4 percent share of Matthew Stafford’s targets over that span, and Ebron is in line to keep it rolling in Week 16.
The Cincinnati Bengals are in the middle of the pack against tight ends this year, but they’ve allowed a touchdown to the position in back-to-back games as their defense has been increasingly banged up.
Ebron does carry some risk, as his playing time has not gone up during his two-game spike. But he does have at least four catches or a touchdown in six straight games now, and that’s plenty enough to make him my streamer tight end for Week 16.

Others To Consider: Jesse James, Pittsburgh Steelers vs Houston Texans (Monday), Ben Watson, Baltimore Ravens vs. Indianapolis Colts (Saturday); Ricky Seals-Jones, Arizona Cardinals vs. New York Giants; Charles Clay, Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots
Team Defense: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Miami Dolphins
In four of their last five games, the Chiefs have allowed 16 points or less with multiple takeaways three times in that span. Over their last two games, they’ve allowed 14 points per game with seven takeaways and five sacks over that span.
Jay Cutler had a shining moment against the New England Patriots in Week 14, but that’s the only game in his last four where he hasn’t thrown multiple interceptions. Overall, the Dolphins have turned the ball over multiple times in four of their last five games.
Cutler’s lackluster interception to end last week’s game against the Bills may be a template for Week 16, and Miami needs all kinds of help to make the playoffs at 6-8 right now. The Chiefs’ defense is ready to pounce on that situation on Sunday.
