Stephen Strasburg

Strasburg is overpriced in a matchup against the Diamondbacks in Chase Field. Priced at $13,900, I don’t think I can pay for him in cash games, but he’ll project as the top pitcher on the slate. It’s worth a shot in tournaments due to the upside. The Diamondbacks have a low team run total and the fifth highest strikeout rate in the league this year at 25.1%. I think he’s priced out of cash game consideration, but I understand it for tournaments.

Noah Syndergaard

Syndergaard will face the Phillies in Citizens Bank Park. He’s averaged only 5.25 strikeouts per game over his last four starts, but we’ve seen the upside in the past, and the Phillies have the third highest strikeout rate in the league. Syndergaard has an OTT of 3.5 (see pitcher chart), one of the lowest on the slate. With a price tag $2,400 cheaper than Strasburg, I’m starting my cash game thoughts with Syndergaard.

Jon Lester

Lester will face the White Sox in Wrigley Field. I’ve been picking on the White Sox all season and will continue to pick on them until their offense improves. Even with the ability to put nine righties in the lineup, the White Sox strike out 28.5% of the time against lefties, highest rate in the league. Lester is the biggest favorite on the day and if the Wrigley wind cooperates, he’ll be a fantastic play on Saturday.

Shohei Ohtani

DraftKings currently has Ohtani as the projected starter for the game against the Twins tomorrow night. I’m seeing reports of Nick Tropeano pitching. If Tropeano pitches, I have minimal interest, but Ohtani is priced at $4,500. Ohtani be near 100% owned if he starts.
