MLB DFS DraftKings GPP Lineup Advice: 6/7/18

With a split set of games this Thursday, there are just five games on the DraftKings main slate. There is only one starting pitcher to pay up for this evening in a fantastic matchup. You cannot fade Gerrit Cole against Texas. The rest of the field is a lot more interesting, or lack there of.
For offenses, there are three teams with an over 5 implied run total. These are the teams we will look at for stacks. It’s a pretty gross slate, which makes it fun for GPP’s. Let’s take a look at some of the best options.

Pitchers

*No need to breakdown Gerrit Cole. He’s a stud in a great matchup. Have to eat the chalk on this one.

Mike Leake (SEA): $7,500 @ TB
The Mariners starter is a viable SP 2 on DraftKings tonight to pair with Cole. Outside of Leake, we are throwing darts on starters. Leake almost becomes the default SP 2 if we use the process of elimination. I am worried that this combination will be the highest owned pitching duo on the night. But there is really nowhere else to go with confidence. Seattle has been on fire as of late, which should give Leake offensive support against a weak Rays team. He has also scored at least 20 DraftKings points in each of his last two games.

If you want to get a little different at the pitching position for ownership purposes, take a look at a Red Sox middle reliever. Jalen Beeks has been called up and will likely have a shorter leash. Against a poor Detroit team, a relief pitcher could record a few K’s and innings.

Hitting Stacks

Seattle Mariners
As mentioned above, the Mariners are one of the hottest teams in the MLB at the moment. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games, scoring 44 runs in that span. They are a very balanced team with a power-speed combo and should take this series quite easily. With Chris Archer on the DL, there are no pitchers to fear in this rotation and all Mariners are in play.

Oakland A’s
This will be the second start in a row for Jason Hammel against Oakland. I give the advantage to the hitters in these scenarios. Even though Hammel has pitched a couple of gems, he has blow-up potential each time out. The KC bullpen is also among the worst in the MLB which lends more intrigue to this stack. As the late-night hammer, Oakland should go somewhat overlooked in a slate with plenty of offensive options.
