MLB DFS DraftKings GPP Lineup Advice: 6/11/18

With just an eight-game slate tonight on DraftKings, getting a little contrarian will be the key to success in GPP’s. Figuring out ownership will be more key tonight than most. There is a lot of value available across the board, so paying up at certain spots is viable. Let’s dive into the slate and uncover some GPP options.

Pitchers

Carlos Carrasco (CLE): $10,700 @ CWS
Although he will come in as the highest owned pitcher, it is hard to fade Carrasco tonight. The Indians are a massive -238 favorite as they travel to Chicago to take on a terrible White Sox team. Chicago owns a 25.1% strikeout rate on the year with just a .243 AVG. Carrasco is having a slightly down year but has electric stuff and elite K upside. In the best matchup of the night, look to use the Indians starter as a foundation during lineup construction.

Sam Gaviglio (TOR): $7,300 @ TB
There are plenty of other ways to go at SP 2 tonight, which makes me think that Gaviglio will go way overlooked. I have watched a lot of Blue Jays games and Gaviglio looks incredible. Not much of a strikeout pitcher, but gets out and is extremely efficient. He has had some tough matchups this year already and will look to take advantage of a struggling Rays team. In the last week, the Rays own a .292 wOBA and 86 wRC+. In that time, they are walking at just 2.9% and striking out at 23.4%. The Jays starter is among the best when it comes to contact % and ground ball rate. This is a fantastic matchup for a sneaky good starting pitcher.

Hitting Stacks

Cleveland Indians
Owning the highest implied run total on the night, the Indians are in a great spot to put up a lot of runs. Vegas has set the line at 5.55 runs for the Tribe, as they are set to take on a struggling Lucas Giolito. They will garner quite a bit of ownership, but all Indians are in play tonight to score against a bad starting pitcher and bullpen.

San Francisco Giants
The Giants will take on the Miami Marlins this evening in a game they should win handily. Wei-yin Chen owns a .392 wOBA against, with a 2.05 HR/9, 1.78 WHIP and 50% FB rate. In addition, the Marlins bullpen is one to target as well. They have pitched 50 innings in the last seven days, with a 4.41 SIERA, and just an 18.1% K rate.
