Dynasty Football: Best Landing Spots for Rookie WRs

N’Keal Harry – Indianapolis Colts

Behind T.Y. Hilton the Colts wide receiver depth chart isn’t that good, they just signed Devin Funchess to a one year contract and Deon Cain is coming back from ACL surgery. In 2018 Eric Ebron and Hilton combined for 230 targets out of the 639 Andrew Luck threw, Ryan Grant who left for Oakland had 52 targets, while Chester Rodgers had 72. In slides Harry, who could surpass Funchess, Rodgers and Zach Pascal in trading camp. Harry gets one of the best quarterbacks in the league, he could easily see 100+ targets if he surpasses those guys and gets a starting job. This would mean Harry would fall past pick 15 in the draft which would hurt me as I think he’s a Top-15 pick. I could also see the Colts going another need in the first round, but Harry would be a steal in the second round for the Colts and would add even more to his case for the 1.01.

DK Metcalf – Jacksonville Jaguars

What does a team need that has a strong defense, a freshly signed quarterback and a strong running back? An Alpha wise receiver. The Jags don’t have much for Nick Foles to throw to. Marqise Lee is coming back from ACL Injury, DeDe Westbrook and Keelan Cole has flashed at times but besides that, there’s nothing to shake a stick at. Jacksonville has pick No. 7 in the draft. Which they should use on an offensive lineman, but If D.K. Is still there why not give your QB a strong receiver to help take the pressure off him and your RB.

AJ Brown – Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh has lost a huge contributor in the offense this offseason. They will most likely draft someone as their top receivers are Juju Smith-Schuster and James Washington. On top of losing AB, they lost Jesse James so now 207 targets are gone. Assuming Washington sees triple his 38 targets, there is still 100 targets missing. I can see AJ Brown sitting there in the 2nd or 3rd round of the Draft and Pittsburgh pulling the trigger on him. Brown would slide right into a starting role, as long as he doesn’t get on Ben’s bad side right away. The only problem I see with AJ is that he could be a diva in the future, but maybe with JuJu looking after him he won’t become one.

Hakeem Butler  Washington

Washington has Josh Doctson and Trey Quinn as wide receivers who jump out at you. Paul Richardson was signed last offseason but the quarterback carousel didn’t help him show anything. Washington badly needs a quarterback, but why not get one and a receiver to grow with your new QB (be is Case Keenum or a Rookie). Hakeem Butler should be there in the 3rd round, where Washington pick numbers 76th and 96th. Standing at 6’5” Butler is a huge target for any quarterback that Washington totes out there. Which could help Keenum or a rookie succeed with Butler on the outside, Doctson on the other side and Quinn in the slot. This Washington team could take a huge uptick in production. Which means great things for your fantasy team.

Marquise Brown – New York Giants

Odell Beckham has been traded, the Giants then went out and signed Golden Tate and paid Sterling Shepard to be their main wide receivers. What they’re missing is a field stretcher, Brown is coming off a Lisfranc injury, which in turn should drop his draft stock some, new reports have him doing excellent though. If New York can grab him in the 3rd-4th round, Brown would slide in great as a slot receiver for Eli Manning or a rookie QB. It would also help keep the stacked boxes away from Saquon Barkley which would benefit him greatly. If the Giants don’t add a skill player in this draft I can see Evan Engram getting a huge bump in value this year.
