The Game Plan For Week 14 (#FantasyFootball)

Fine readers of the Going For 2 fanbase my name is @TheBLeagueSays and I am 100% ready for the Fantasy Playoffs and I hope you are too! Each week I will give to you some plays to make in regards to your Fantasy team’s weekly roster construction, DFS selections or Dynasty evaluations.

So before we get started, thank you, and enjoy!

Slant Route

Who is trending up this week?

Rashaad Penny was getting the love this week and what a week he has had.

Related Articles

Over the past two games, Penny has had 29-203-2 touchdowns on the ground (with another score in the receiving game) and is splitting the load with Chris Carson who has had a few issues of late with fumbles.

But on a more insightful line, an interview with Penny post-game recently, he mentioned how Carson had brought himself out of the game so Penny could punch one in. A selfless act indeed, from a team showing more spirit and unity than in years past. This team looks to have dropped the ego, and a small gesture from Carson to Penny like this shows how together for the cause they have.

Penny gets the Rams, the Panthers (allowing the most fantasy ppg to Running Backs at 25.8 ppg), and the Cardinals (allowing the 10th most fantasy ppg to Running Backs at 20.2 ppg) over the fantasy playoffs. If for some reason he is out there, then correct that before the rest of your league does. Rashaad Penny is currently the @GoingFor_2 RB29 (two places behind Chris Carson as the RB27) in our dynasty rankings

Flat Route

The bubble has burst on:

Ronald Jones.

To quote head coach Bruce Arians: ‘”Rojo missed a blitz pickup and that’s it, You don’t get to play no more.” That’s all it takes to get benched in Tampa… unless you are Jameis Winston who turns the ball over like candy on Halloween. He’s fine.

But still, ouch.

You cant trust that going forward at all. But what you can trust is a low volume, low ownership play in Peyton Barber ($4200) on Draft Kings this week. Barber crushed with 17 rushing attempts with two touchdowns to go with it last week against the Jaguars and could look to be the bell-cow for the Buccaneers for the remainder of the season.

This week the Buccaneers are at home to the Colts, who have been stout against the position. However, Tampa can always move the ball down the field, and as long as they get into that Red Zone, Barber will always be a threat to punch one in. Tampa has 10 touchdowns in the opposition Red Zone, second only to Green Bay (12 touchdowns).

Out Route

Who am I completely off this week:

The Patriots until they can get their act together, and I don’t trust them at home as favorites (+3) against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Say what? Not taking the Patriots? At home? And as favorites? How dare I?

Dare indeed. The Patriots look like they aren’t on the same page, lacking cohesion on Offence. The Patriots have struggled their way to an average 18 ppg in the last month, and find the Chiefs who are 5-1 on the road with an average of 31 ppg too.

I don’t think the Patriots can keep up. However the line is set at ’49’, and if their averages are the minimum, then I can see this going over pretty easily.

Chiefs at +3 with the ‘Overs’.

Book it.

The 9 Route

A straight forward confidence play of the week:

Who is Arizona playing this week and who is the Tight End they are facing? The Steelers with Devlin Hodges calling the shots, so we are hoping Vance McDonald does something?

Pass.

How about a ‘get right’ game for the Eagles at home in primetime on Monday against the returning Eli Manning (it looks like Daniel Jones will be ruled out, bare with me)?

Philadelphia was a joke against Miami last week, and if you don’t believe me, how about a trick play on the 2-yard line resulting in the following: punter to kicker and touchdown for Miami?

Yeah. Not good.

However, Doug Pederson is 3-0 as a Head Coach at home against the Giants which is as solid as it gets. But even more damning? Eli Manning in his illustrious career is 10-22 in his career against the Eagles, which also includes a devastating 1-9 record in his last 10 meetings.

It’s almost a sure thing, so Philadelphia opens up as +9.5 favorites and I can’t see the Giants getting close to that. Manning is good for 14 to 17 points and the Eagles can blow them out, I like the ‘Overs’ at 46 hitting as well.

Hail Mary Play Of The Week

He’s baaaaaa-aaaaaack!

For the first 4 weeks of the year, he was the WR15 after not being drafted at all. He logged 3 touchdowns in 4 games including 2 games over 100 yards. He is quite possibly the fastest man in the league. He is our consensus WR61 in Dynasty, and coming in at $4400 on Draft Kings where the negative game script is highly likely for his 1-11 team.

John Ross.

Welcome back!

John Ross comes back this week with a trip to Cleveland, with Andy Dalton back in the saddle, ready to make the misery of fellow Ohio residents Cleveland even worse. Cleveland is solid against Wide Receivers, but Ross has a speed that you can’t teach and all it takes is one breakaway moment for him to return investment.

John Ross hammers an 8-5-120-1 stat line this week. It’s a risk because we don’t know what we are going to get. But again… kind of… the point of… a hail mary… play… for the… week.

I want to thank you for getting this far and taking in everything I have presented. You can as always follow and find me at @TheBLeagueSays and offer any view or conversation about this.
