Bottom Line
At 6’1″ and 230 pounds, Laviska Shenault is built like a running back and runs like one after the catch as well. The most important piece for Shenault to be successful at the next level will be how he is utilized. Without a creative play-caller, Shenault likely will struggle to ever be fantasy relevant. While Shenault is far from under the radar, he is currently slipping down many people’s draft boards not only because his stats slid during the most recent NCAA season, but also because he has been hurt a lot. Shenault underwent Labrum surgery after his 2018 season.
During the same season, Shenault also missed 3 games from a toe injury. Now leading up to the 2020 draft, Shenault is dealing with a nagging core injury that left him unable to perform most drills at the combine. This injury also left the 40 with something more to be desired. The plus side when looking at the injury history of Shenault, is the shoulder, toe, and core are not interrelated.
While someone could argue the core injuries could come from compensating from other injuries, the timeline of the injuries makes this seem doubtful to me. From what I can tell, Shenault has not had any further problems with his shoulder which is probably the most concerning of his injuries.
