Fantasy Football Week 18 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense

Before moving on to Week 18, let’s look at how Week 17’s streamers did (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR).

Quarterback: Trey Lance-20.06 points
Tight End: Gerald Everett-5.1 points
Team Defense: Chicago Bears-21 points

If your playing in a league that ends Week 18 and are in need of options, we’re going all the way to the end here too. Here are my top quarterback, tight end and team defense fantasy football streamers for Week 18.

Quarterback: Trey Lance, San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams

Assuming he starts again, despite indications Jimmy Garoppolo (thumb) will be cleared to play, I’m going back to the well with Lance here. In Week 17 against the Houston Texans he had 249 passing yards, two scores through the air and 31 rushing yards on his way topping 20 fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring).

Lance’s Week 18 matchup is not a great one, as the Los Angeles Rams allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks through Week 17 (16.7 per game, Yahoo! scoring). But Lance’s running ability books him for a chunk of points, and it won’t take much more for him to get to 15-20 fantasy points. Assuming he starts, Lance is again my top quarterback streamer this week.

Others To Consider: Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons; Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens; Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots; Davis Mills, Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans

Tight End: Evan Engram, New York Giants vs. Washington Football Team

Yes, the Giants’ offense and passing game has been very ugly, and ugly might not be a trong enough a word to describe it. And Jake Fromm looks certain to make his second career start in Week 18, with Mike Glennon (hand) now done for the season. But prior to Week 17’s one-catch two target dud, Engram had at least four targets in six straight games.

Washington is a bottom-12 fantasy defense against tight ends for 2021, with only a lack of touchdowns allowed to the position (five) keeping them from being worse. More generally, their pass defense has been very bad this year.

It might not look great, but Engram has a path to 4-5 catches with a solid yardage total on Sunday. You may not need to stream a tight end if you’re in a Week 18 title game, but among some options that aren’t great the Giants’ tight might meander his way to a useful fantasy day.

Others To Consider: C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns; David Njoku/Austin Hooper, Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals; Gerald Everett, Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals; Foster Moreau, Las Vegas Raiders vs. Los Angeles Chargers (Sunday night, check Darren Waller’s status);

Team Defense: New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons

I’m stretching well beyond the 50 percent ownership threshold here, but the situation allows for it. The Saints have allowed 14 points or less in four straight games, with at least three sacks in all four. A division matchup puts them in line to keeep it going in Week 18.

The Atlanta Falcons have scored 20 points or less in three straight games, four of their last five and six of their last eight. Matt Ryan has been sacked 11 times over the last three games, and he has zero or one touchdown pass in eight straight games. His last multi-touchdown came against the Saints in Week 9 (two, with 343 yards through the air), but things are different now.

The Saints defense might be available in your league that finishes in Week 18. If they are and you have a need, go get ’em.
