Ultimate Fantasy Rookie Performances to Follow: Week 16
I don’t have a fun intro this week. I am completely devastated about missing the cutoff for Scott Fishbowl by 8 points. Being completely out of all playoffs is no fun. There’s always next year I guess.
(Deep breath in, big sigh out) This week’s rookie top performances based on fantasy points that are tucked between parentheses.

Rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder had his first start for the Falcons this week. He looked London’s way 11 times for 7 catches and 70 yards. London also had a fumble. Will this chemistry continue going forward?

Bad news for Garrett, Zach Wilson is back because of Mike White’s broken ribs. This is not an ideal situation for Garrett or the Jets offense in general. The good news is Zach actually threw it his way 9 times for 4 catches and 98 yards.

It’s really hard to tell if Purdy is good or if the Shanahan system can make anyone look good. Either way, Purdy continued to play pur… well. He played well (I refuse to do more purdy puns but, man, the brain wants to). Against division rivals Seattle, Purdy threw 17/26 for 217 yards and 2 touchdowns. I am VERY interested to see what San Francisco does with the quarterback situation next year because with a quick eyeball of the stats, Purdy is better than Trey Lance, and Garoppolo’s contract is up.

Jahan Dotson hasn’t been on the list since week 2. It’s good to see him back! This week, Dotson had 4 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown. I’m crossing my fingers he continues to get looks because I’m running out of rookies to watch this year…

To protect Ridder’s first day on the job, the Falcons ran the ball 32 times (ignoring Ridder scrambles and rushes). Allgeier had 17 carries for 139 yards and a touchdown (and a catch for -3 yards). It’s nice to see Allgeier have a statistically good day, but it is hard to project who will get the carries between Allgeier and Patterson on a week to week basis. With Dameon Pierce going down last week (I didn’t know! I’m sorry for the sloppy reporting) this year has been brutal for rookie running backs. It’s down to Allgeier, Zonovan Knight, and a banged up Kenneth Walker III.
The data is almost over! Oh no!
As the season is winding down, I would be remiss to not thank my editor (and wife) for the 5 minutes she spends weekly adding one thousand commas to my article. She was jealous that I said hi to my mom before her and dreamed of the day that she would also get a shout out. This counts as a birthday present, right?
Good luck to all that are still in the playoffs. Better luck next year to those of you (and me) who are already out.
