Ultimate Rookie Report Week 9

The Rookie Bowl recap

The Rookie Bowl failed to be the offensive fireworks I anticipated. That is, until that incredible ending. One of these guys made the list on a last second, breathtaking hail mary. The other completed 41% of his passes on the day. Read on to find out who!

Points per reception is superior to standard scoring. These rookies did (and for the most part do) well in that format for fantasy leagues.

5. Jayden Daniels (22.2)

The suspense did not last long! Jayden Daniels had a mostly meh day until he uncorked a 52 yard touchdown pass to Noah Brown for the walkoff win. It’s a good thing Daniels overcame his doubtful status to win this game and show the league who the superior QB is from the 2024 draft class.  For the record, Daniels was 21/38 for the day for 326 yards and  8 rushes for 52 yards.

In case you couldn’t figure it out, Caleb Williams is the one who completed 10/24 for 131 yards.

4. Tyrone Tracy (23)

This guy is legit and I want him on my teams so badly. Against THE STEELERS, Tracy carried the Giants on his back for 145 yards and a touchdown. This kid gets better and better every week and I look forward to seeing how he develops over the year.

3. Marvin Harrison (23.1)

It’s nice to see the first wide receiver off the board in the draft make another appearance to our list. Marvin Harrison caught six of his seven targets for 111 yards and a touchdown. Harrison is the boomiest/bustiest of rookies we’ve had this year. It is nearly impossible to guess when he’s going to go off for the week. His numbers for the year, in order, are 1.4, 29, 17.4, 15.5, 5.6, out for concussion, 5.1 and this week’s 23.1.

2. Ladd McConkey (29.1)

I swear one of these days I’m going to care about Ladd McConkey. He’s got a cool name. He’s got a cool uniform. He’s got one of the best young QBs in the league. And yet, the Chargers just make me feel apathetic. This week he caught all six passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

1. Bo Nix (29.8)

Honestly, I’m a little disappointed in this performance. I know, I know, he’s the highest scoring rookie and the second highest scoring QB of the week. I was just expecting more against a (sigh) woeful Panther team. I’ve actually been very impressed with Bo’s development overall. For what he allegedly lacks in arm strength, Nix has the knack to find the open man. This week he threw a pass to 11 different players. Nix went 28/37 for 284 yards and three touchdowns. His rushing yards were down for the week (only 4) but he did score a rushing touchdown. Everyone had Bo as the second best QB to come out of this draft class, right?

We are halfway through the fantasy season and 47% through the regular season. May your teams remain healthy and your lineups over perform their projections.
