QuarterBacks
Blake Bortles-Jaguars
Bortles is coming off a monster game in week 5, that saw him throw 4 touchdown passes. He appears to be one of the QBs who is trending upward. He has 1,299 yards, 10 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions. It has been impressive to see how well he has protected the ball and sustained drives.
This week he gets a matchup against a Texans defense that has struggled all year. I tell the young ones how I remember a time when JJ Watt played football. They are weak in the secondary and haven’t been getting the expected pressure from their front 4. Without the pressure from the front 4, this defense is useless. Bortles should have decent numbers this week.
Marcus Mariota-Titans
Coming off his bye week, he should be rested coming into week 6. He has looked like a play maker to start the season. He has been scrambling for yardage, but, he has been using his legs to make time and help him extend plays.
This week he gets a matchup against the Dolphins. This defense has been a mess, Cameron Wake has been ineffective, along with every other player on this defense.
Mariota comes into week 6, with 1,020 yards, 8 touchdowns and just 3 interceptions. I don’t know if he is the best upside play, but, he makes for a nice safe play in week 6 against the Dolphins.
Joe Flacco-Ravens
He is coming off a solid, but, unconventional performance in week 5, where he rushed for 2 touchdowns, a first for Flacco. I like him again this week, this is another matchup where the deep ball option should be open to him all game.
The 49ers continue to prove one thing week in and week out. They can’t stop anybody, they will continue to allow QBs to kill them, in week 6 they will see the QB that throws one of the better deep balls. This will be a tough matchup for them. Start Flacco with confidence this week.
Tight Ends
Jacob Tamme-Falcons
He hasn’t been overly impressive this season, but, a few factors are working towards him having a big game. Both Julio Jones and Leonard Hankerson are going to be banged up on short weeks.

Furthermore, he gets a matchup against the Saints, who boast one of the worst defenses in the league. He could be a sneaky home run play this week that wins you your matchup.
Defense
Minnesota Vikings
I know they haven’t looked that good, but, this is a defense I believed in coming into the season and I still do.
This week they play the Kansas City Chiefs. I know Alex Smith rarely turns the ball over and yes, this is a risky play, but, the Chiefs were having issues finding the endzone before they lost their best offensive weapon.
Take Jamaal Charles off this team and the offense is a lot worse than you would think. He is their best playmaker and best option in the passing game. The Chiefs will need a couple of weeks to adjust the offense making this a solid play.
