NHL DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice 10/20/15

Hey NHL DFS world, I’m back with another article to help you win some cash tonight. There’s a healthy slate of hockey this evening, so let’s make the most of it and have some fun watching the games too!

Left Wing (LW)

Evgeni Malkin (PIT) – $8,500

The Penguins have the potential to be one of the most offensively skilled teams in the league, and Malkin is a big part of that appeal. He leads Pittsburgh’s second line along with Patric Hornqvist, and I expect them to get plenty of action tonight against the Panthers at home. Malkin tallied 3 goals and 4 total points against Florida last season, so he will look to continue that success tonight.

Anders Lee (NYI) – $5,600

Lee is a fantastic cheap option at LW tonight, and he is almost close to must start in my books. He plays on the Islanders’ potent first line with John Tavares and Ryan Strome, and they have a great matchup tonight against the worst team in the league, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Not to mention, it sounds like Columbus will have their backup goaltender going tonight, so expect some fireworks from most of the Islanders skaters tonight.

Right Wing (RW)

T.J. Oshie (WSH) – $6,000

Oshie gets to spend his time on ice with the best player in the league, so what’s not to love there? The Capitals are matching up this evening with a small Calgary team who finds themselves on a bit of a skid lately. Oshie has been very consistent this season, a great trait when looking for cash lineup plays. I’m loading up on Capitals tonight, and you should as well!

Anthony Duclair (PHO) – $4,300

Sure he won’t score a hat trick every night, but if you’re looking for a cheaper play at RW tonight look no further than Duclair for the Coyotes. The matchup isn’t the best on the road against stud Cory Schneider, but he has been a very consistent play this season and has rarely been in the negatives. I don’t love that he’s on the second line, but if you’re looking to fit an extra stud into your lineup then Anthony Duclair might be your guy!

Center (C)

Tyler Seguin (DAL) – $8,600

Not much analysis here. An absolute stud with a solid matchup in a game where I anticipate a lot of goals to be scored on both sides. I don’t think you can go wrong with any Dallas skater tonight but if you’re looking for a perennial stud to count on, Seguin is definitely the man tonight! Plus he’s a tad cheaper than John Tavares, which could be very helpful elsewhere in your lineup.

Nicklas Backstrom (WAS) – $6,200

I was talking to one of my NHL guru’s on Twitter this morning and he had this to say with regards to Backstrom: “Backstrom is a must-play at Center for only $6,200, he’s comparable to the top guys.” This is completely true, when he’s on his game Backstrom can perform up to an $8k price tag easily. Yes, he’s coming back from hip surgery but don’t let that deter you from playing the Washington stud tonight, lock him in!

Defensemen (D)

P.K. Subban (MTL) – $6,600

Subban and Erik Karlsson are really the only defensemen I will pay up for in cash games, and they are both usually well worth it. The Montreal stud is up against a hot Blues team tonight at home, but big players rise to big occasions and I expect Subban to post a great stat line tonight. He is on their #1 power play unit, and aside from that I expect Montreal’s talented skaters to create a lot of scoring opportunities tonight.

Anton Stralman (TB) – $4,600

I expect this to be another high octane game (like DAL/PHI), and it has the potential for lots of goals to be scored. Stralman finds himself on that Tampa Bay first line with playmakers like Drouin and Stamkos, so expect some decent production out Stralman tonight. Picking defensemen is always a tough proposition, but as long as they can get you a couple of positive points that’s really all we can ask for.

Goaltender (G)

There is a fair amount of studs on display tonight but they don’t have overly tantalizing matchups, so I am looking in the upper mid-tier of goalies for tonight. My top choice is Jaroslav Halak (NYI) of the Islanders, as the win potential is awesome and he should stifle a winless Columbus team. Other goaltending options I like tonight are Mike Smith (PHO), and Cory Schneider (NJ).
