There is a ton of DFS articles out there helping you guys out with big sites such as Fanduel and Draft Kings, but what about the smaller ones? Well, today I’ve got the article for you! I’m going to be covering a new, up and coming site called FanPicks.com. Just like the above-mentioned sites, it’s a daily fantasy sports site that brings you all types of football, basketball, baseball etc. types of DFS contests. I’m hoping with this article I can better introduce you all to Fan Picks and hope that you will give it a shot for your Week 8 daily fantasy football fun!

So, let’s get started:

MVP: In reality the MVP is the best player at their given sport. This will be my overall favorite player at each position. I’ll look at his season stats, defensive matchup, recent performances and his career history versus this week’s opponent.

Value Pick: A value pick will be a player who has the potential to be a middle priced guy who could outperform the MVP style players.

Punt Play: This is a widely used term in the DFS world. This will be a player who will be low-owned in the larger tournaments, but will be a high-risk play.

Bust Candidate: This will be a potential top-rated player who I believe will have a down week. I’ll take a look at their recent performances and defensive matchup.

Quarterbacks

MVP: Philip Rivers, Chargers ($7,300)

Rivers is on an epic fantasy streak over the last month, he’s thrown for at least 335 yards and two touchdowns in each of his last four games. In Week 8, Rivers draws a matchup against the beat up Baltimore Ravens secondary, which is great news for him! Even though he tends to throw interceptions, that doesn’t stop me from making him my top DFS quarterback of the week. You won’t be disappointed with Rivers in Week 8!

Value Pick: Andy Dalton, Bengals ($6,700)

Dalton is one of the top ranked fantasy quarterbacks in the NFL as we speak and he’s actually fairly cheap this week. In three of his six games in 2015, he has thrown for three touchdowns, which is another great possibility this week. Dalton will be playing the Steelers, who allow an average of 21.8 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. If you want to save a little cash and not go for one of the bigger names, Dalton is your guy in Week 8.

Punt Play: Teddy Bridgewater, Vikings ($5,600)

Bridgewater is without a doubt a shot in the dark for Week 8. He’s coming off of a solid Week 7, where he threw for 316 yards and two touchdowns against the Detroit Lions. This week, he will be playing the Chicago Bears, who rank 27th at defending against opposing quarterbacks. I see the Bears trying to stop Adrian Peterson, allowing Bridgewater to air it out to his wide receivers. He could be a very sneaky play this week, but do it with caution.

Bust Candidate: Andrew Luck, Colts ($7,200)

Luck is by far one of the best quarterbacks in the game right now, but he just hasn’t quite been himself in 2015. He is coming off a solid game against the Saints, but even that one was a shaky performance overall. This week, Luck will face a Panthers defense who ranks 3rd at defending opposing quarterbacks, so he is a player that I’m staying away from. With his high price tag and a tough matchup, Luck is a risky play in Week 8.

Running Backs

MVP: Todd Gurley, Rams ($7,000)

After Gurley’s last three performances, how could you not want to own him in your DFS lineups! He has been an absolute monster on the football field during this three-game span, racking up 733 yards. In Week 7, he also rushed for his first two touchdowns of his career. Gurley will be facing off against a 49ers defense who allow an average of 22.2 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. Play him with confidence in Week 8!

Value Pick: Justin Forsett, Ravens ($5,600)

Forsett has been hot and cold all season long but gets an ultra-juicy Week 8 matchup. He will be taking on the San Diego Chargers who rank 31st against running back this season. The Chargers are allowing an average of 26.2 fantasy points per game and have been absolutely atrocious overall on the defensive side of the ball. This is one week where I’ll be inserting Forsett into all of my DFS lineups, you should do the same.

Punt Play: Jonathan Stewart, Panthers ($4,800)

Stewart hasn’t been the greatest option at running back this season, but Week 8 just may be his best one yet! He had a solid Week 7 versus the Eagles, rushing for 125 yards. This week, Stewart will be facing the same Colts squad that Mark Ingram shredded last week. The Panthers will most likely try to control this contest with a heavy dosage of Stewart, which I believe will play high dividends to us DFS owners.

Bust Candidate: Latavius Murray, Raiders ($6,600)

Murray just hasn’t impressed me so far in 2015, even against the dreadful Chargers defense a week ago. He’s only had one game this season where he rushed for more than 100 yards. This week he draws an awful matchup against the New York Jets, who rank 1st at defending against opposing running backs. This week, I would stay as far away from Murray as a can because he will see very minimal fantasy success.

Wide Receivers

MVP: Julio Jones, Falcons ($8,600)

Jones is one of the higher priced DFS options at the wide receiver position, but there is a solid reason for that. He’s been putting up overall solid fantasy stats this season and there’s no reason why that will stop this week. Jones will face off against a Tampa Bay team who allows an average of 27.9 fantasy points per contest to opposing wide receivers. Playing at home against a bad defense spells good news for Jones’ fantasy production in Week 8.

Value Pick: Keenan Allen, Chargers ($7,300)

Allen is an absolute target monster this season and things won’t slow down for him in Week 8! In seven games this year, he has racked up 84 total targets and is Rivers favorite player to throw to. Allen will be facing off against the Baltimore Ravens, who rank 31st at defending against opposing wide receivers. I will be pairing him with fellow teammate Rivers in a lot of my lineups this week.

Punt Play: Stefon Diggs, Vikings ($5,400)

Diggs has absolutely burst onto the fantasy scene over the past few weeks! Over the last two weeks, he has caught at least six balls for over a hundred yards in each game. In Week 8, he’ll face off against a Bears defense who allow an average of 27.6 fantasy points per game. Diggs could very well be an under the radar type of player who you could plug into your lineup this week.

Bust Candidate: Amari Cooper, Raiders ($7,400)

Cooper isn’t a guy that I’m paying up for in Week 8. Yes, he’s coming off a stellar Week 7 performance, but don’t let that cloud your vision here, guys. Cooper will be taking a trip to Revis Island this week and won’t have a very pleasant time. The Jets rank 10th versus opposing team’s wide receivers, allowing an average of just 20.0 fantasy points per game to them. I’m leaving all Oakland Raiders players out of my DFS lineups in Week 8.

Tight Ends

MVP: Tyler Eifert, Bengals ($6,100)

If I’m starting Dalton in my lineup this week, Eifert is my go-to guy to stack with him. Coming off a bye week, I see this Bengals team being well rested and ready to feast on this putrid Steelers defense. Pittsburgh ranks 30th this season versus opposing tight ends, allowing an average of 11.8 fantasy points per game. I see the Bengals grinding out a solid victory in Week 8 behind a nice outing from Eifert!

Value Pick: Jason Witten, Cowboys ($4,800)

I know, I know Dallas’ quarterback situation just isn’t a good one. But Matt Cassel seemed to enjoy feeding Witten the ball in Week 7 and will most likely look to him as a safety blanket once again this week. Witten will face off against a Seattle defense who is surprisingly bad against the tight end position. This year, the Seahawks actually rank 31st against opposing tight ends, allowing 12.1 fantasy points per contest.

Punt Play: Jeff Cumberland, Jets ($2,700)

Cumberland is truly a punt play in Week 8! He could produce decent numbers or absolutely nothing, but that’s the fun of DFS, right? This week, he draws a matchup against the Oakland Raiders, who rank dead last at defending against tight ends. So far this season, I’ve played whoever is playing the Raiders at tight end and it’s worked out good so far. Do you have the guts to try out Cumberland in Week 8?

Bust Candidate: Gary Barnidge, Browns ($5,300)

Barnidge was in this exact spot prior to Week 7 for me, but he once again proved me wrong and had a solid game. This week, though, he faces off against one of my favorite fantasy defenses in the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals rank 1st against opposing tight ends this season, allowing an average of just 3.0 fantasy points per contest. It doesn’t help that quarterback Josh McCown was injured in Week 7 and is questionable for this week’s contest. I’d stay away from Barnidge in Week 8 if possible!

Defense

MVP: Arizona Cardinals ($3,700)

The Cardinals have been one of the most consistent fantasy defenses all season long. They draw a potential matchup against a beat up Browns team who may have Johnny Manziel at quarterback. I don’t care if this is a road game in Cleveland, I think Arizona is going to be able to easily contain this Browns offense.

Value Pick: St. Louis Rams ($3,400)

The Rams were one of the best defenses to play for DFS in Week 7! They will continue this trend with a matchup this week against the 49ers. Everything with San Francisco’s offense just isn’t going right, so with a heavy dose of Gurley to control the clock and some major pressure on Colin Kaepernick, the Rams defense will once again prevail this week!

Punt Play: Atlanta Falcons ($3,100)

For the most part of this year, Atlanta has been a consistent fantasy defensive option. Things won’t change this week when they face off against rookie quarterback Jameis Winston’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bust Candidate: Denver Broncos ($3,300)

The Broncos have actually been one of the best fantasy defenses of the season, but it’s hard to play them against this Packers team. There are much safer matchups out there, so I’m staying away from Denver in Week 8.
