Runningbacks

Darren McFadden-Cowboys

He was listed here for week 7, had you listened, you would have had him for his big game yesterday. The truth is, nobody saw him getting the most carries in this backfield for week 7. All week the talk was about Randle and Michael.

He finished up yesterday’s action with 29 carries for 153 yards, he Alshon added 2 catches, for 10 yards. That’s right, 31 touches. He was clearly the back they felt safest giving the ball to yesterday. On the year he has 281 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Moving forward, this backfield is a mess, if Randle didn’t hurt his back, we would have seen more of this 3 back committee. I still prefer Randle in this backfield. However, he is hurt and may miss time. After 31 touches, McFadden should be added in all leagues.

Alfred Blue-Texans

With Arian Foster going down with a torn Achilles, a spot has opened up in this backfield. I believe Alfred Blue is the best option they have available to them.
On the season so far, he has 234 yards and 1 touchdown. I don’t believe this suddenly becomes his backfield. We should see some form of committee, similar to when Foster was hurt earlier in the year, with Polk playing the supporting role.

I would rather own Blue. However, when it comes to Blue, the secret is you don’t want to spend too much for him. I would invest 30% of my FAB budget, or, a waiver priority outside of the top 5 on him. If you’re a Foster owner, then you can up the ante a little bit more.

Theo Riddick-Lions

Over the past few weeks, he has been the best back to have in this backfield. He won’t steal running duties ,or, be the go to option on the ground, but, he does pretty good on a weekly basis in the passing game.

Now in standard leagues you could skip him and move onto the next player on this list. He isn’t going to help you, as his contribution to the actual running game is minimal and much to Sporadic.

Chris Polk-Texans

This is the other option in the Texans backfield, in this new post Foster Texans running game. It’s hard to view him as anything more than a short yardage/redzone option for this backfield. He is worth an add, if you can spend the minimum on him.

Khiry Robinson-Saints
After 2 solid weeks he warrants consideration for an add. If you are absolutely desperate at the position, you can do worse than him. My main issue with Khiry, is you can’t predict when the Saints are going to use him.

He is the type of player that you never feel good starting and ends up having his good weeks on your bench. He is still worth an add, as he has been producing the last couple of weeks. Good luck figuring out which weeks to start him though.

Wide Receivers

Marvin Jones-Bengals

There aren’t a ton of options available to you on the wire this week at the position. Of the options, Jones is the best available man. Coming off a big week 6, where he totaled 9/95/1, Jones is showing to be a weekly active participant in the Cincy offense.

Jones is helped as teams are showing up and trying to take A.J Green and Tyler Eifert out of the game. This Leaves little coverage left over to account for Marvin Jones.

Moving forward, this is another guy that should yield sporadic production. He has potential to flash and have some big games as some defenses will be strained to the max trying to contain all the Bengal weapons.

Nate Washington-Texans

Until Cecil Shorts returns to action, he is going to be the number 2 target in this passing game. Unfortunately, he is inconsistent and will not be a steady scorer for your lineup.

This offense is not good and there will be weeks where he just simply doesn’t get enough work to be effective. That being said, desperate times call for desperate measures, If you need WR help, he is one of the better options on a weak waiver wire.

Michael Floyd-Cardinals

This is really the only other option you have on the wire this week. Over the past few weeks his targets have been going up, but, last week was the first week we actually got to see him do anything with them. After another big game on Monday night, the arrow is starting to point up on Floyd.

If John Brown is going to be banged up, then Floyd becomes an even better option. In my opinion though, he is no more than a depth option. If you have to rely on any of these WR adds you’re probably in trouble.

Tight Ends

Eric Ebron-Lions

He is finally back from his injury and it appears he is still on pace to develop into one of the better TEs in fantasy football. When he got sidelined with his injury he was looking like a threat every time he went out for a pass.
He responded in his first game back from injury like a true stud at the position, catching all 5 of his targets for 89 yards and a touchdown. That’s the type of statline we can expect from him on a weekly basis.

He has stood out amongst the Lions TEs. Having him back makes them a better offense and they know it. I expect his targets to climb a little bit from week 7 as he gets his legs back under him.

Ben Watson-Saints

His stock shot all the way up in week 6 and he has started to come back to earth in week 7. The problem with the Saints is, they have a few TEs that they like to use in the passing game.

Figuring out which week is a good week to roll out Watson is going to be tricky. With that said, he is the best option of their TEs. He should have more good weeks than bad weeks. It’s just too hard to label him an every week starter.

Crockett Gillmore-Ravens

He returned from his injury this week and stepped right back in as the number one TE option for Flacco. As far as his body of work goes, he is probably the 2nd best add-on this list.

There is a chance he can develop into an every week start. If Ebron isn’t available in my league and I need a TE, I’m looking at Gillmore first.

Quarter Backs

Ryan Fitzpatrick-Jets

He is the only good option available to you as far as the QB position is concerned. If you’re desperate for QB help, because of a bye or because of an injury, you could do worse than Fitzmagic.

The Jets successful run game takes all the pressure off Fitzpatrick and allows him to make plays with his arm and on occasion his legs.
