Cut’em Or Keep’em Week 6
Six weeks ago Chris Ivory, Golden Tate, and Thomas Rawls all boarded the newest and most modern ship in England. As they settled in, they noticed two people who would foreshadow their fate in the 2016 NFL season. To their left stood Leonardo Dicaprio, and to the right, Kate Winslet. Uh-oh. Their season was officially doomed! But who could see this coming? A very, very, select few. That’s the beauty of fantasy. If Al Pacino says that football is a game of inches, I say that fantasy football is a game of educated guesses. Who knew that the Titanic would go down? Just some people guessing. Who knew Golden Tate’s season would go down in flames? Just some people guessing.
Cut’em or Keep’em Week 6
Chris Ivory, (JAX) 58.1% owned
Prior to the season Ivory was suppose to receive the majority of early reps for the Jags, plus all the goal line work. Four weeks into 2016, he has 21 touches and no touchdowns. Neither Jacksonville RB is a valuable commodity, unless the other gets hurt. Due to Ivory’s injury history and lack of volume I would have no issue dropping him. Verdict: Cut o
Thomas Rawls, (SEA) 55.7% owned
Thomas Rawls’ ownership rate surprises me. Many owners spent a late third round pick on him, yet they’re cutting ties with him in early October? Rawls is due back within 3-4 weeks, and after that time period he should regain volume and prove his value once and for all. If you’ve held onto Rawls to this point, dropping him now would just be a waste of the first five weeks of the season. Verdict: Keep
Jeremy Langford, (CHI) 52.1% owned
Langford will most likely miss another 3-5 weeks. Even when he does return, rookie back Jordan Howard should maintain the majority of the workload in Chicago. Langford struggled in the first three weeks, so the efficiency is not even there. Drop him, you won’t regret it. Verdict: Cut
Duke Johnson, (CLE) 69.2% owned
I had high hopes for Duke Johnson this year. I was baking on him getting more carries, and that clearly is not going to happen. Cleveland plays from behind so often that they can barely get their bellcow RB over 15 carries a game. Johnson has had over 15 touches just once this year, and with Isaiah Crowell’s current performance rate, it’s likely he never sees an increase of workload. Verdict: Cut
Eli Manning, (NYG) 81.9% owned
Here is my weekly reminder to drop Eli Manning! Poor Odell Beckham probably dropped him after he posted 11 points in week 2, or when he had 14 in week 3, or 9 in week 4, or 8 in week 5. Manning cannot produce this year, but a lot of QBs can!!! Verdict: Cut
