DFS CFL Best Player Values Draft Kings Week 11

It’s a three-game slate in Week 11 of the CFL season. In terms of Daily Fantasy Sports, that is a smaller player pool to select from in the Draft Kings main slate. Especially when compared with the five-game slate form Week 10. This means it is even more important to stack the players you select with teammates (and with opponents as well). Without further delay, let’s get to the best player price values for Week 11 CFL DFS.

Quarterback

Michael Reilly (BC) $9,500 @ CGY

The old reliable Michael Reilly. I have outlined the veteran QB several times in this article series in 2021. Usually the message I convey is that Reilly is not the most expensive QB, yet has maybe the chance the be the highest fantasy scorer on the week. Yes Reilly has excellent pass-catchers at his disposal (including the most expensive WR on the Week 11 slate). But it is also his ability to score rushing touchdowns that elevates Reilly’s fantasy production. Earlier this season against Calgary, Reilly had a 20+ point fantasy performance without scoring through the air. Instead he found the end zone on the ground. As long as he’s under the 10K$ range, I consider Reilly a value.

Matthew Shiltz (MTL) $6,500 @ OTT

The value play at QB this week is to pay down to just above the DraftKings minimum cost. For this week, that price range includes Matthew Shiltz, Montreal’s starting signal-caller. A late game injury got Shiltz some 4th quarter action in Week 10. Now he will get the full-game opportunity and what should be a full compliment of weapons to pass to.

Running Back

Andrew Harris (WPG) $9,700 @ EDM

Similar sentiments to a certain signal-caller. As long as RB Andrew Harris is under the 10K$ price range, he is worth selecting into your lineups. That is because most of the time, he is not just running the football. Harris is typically one of the best pass-catching running n backs in the league. However, he only has 10 receptions on the season. Harris more than made up for it last week, by producing his first multi-TD game of the season. After that spike week, I expect his roster-ship to increase even with his price jumping by almost 1K$. Also, going against that same team in Edmonton will probably convince people to play Harris even more. He’s a good tournament options, but Harris is a must in 50/50 or cash game lineups.

Ka’Deem Cary (CGY) $8,700 vs BC

I referenced stacking in the intro. For those going with a Michael Reilly lineup, one of the best running backs to stack with him is his opponent. The scenario we would want to witness for Reilly is one where Calgary takes a lead and forces BC to throw the ball a ton. In that case expect the Stampeders to utilize Ka’Deem Cary a bunch on the ground. In the team’s Week 10 victory, Cary saw a season-high 20 rushing attempts. Frankly, of the true workhorse backs, Cary is the cheapest in Week 11. That’s value if the game script goes right.

Wide Receiver

Nick Demski (WPG) $7,500 @ EDM

Nick Demski is one of the best slot receivers in the CFL. But don’t let slot back fool you into thinking he can’t make the big play. In spite of being 20th in the CFL in targets (42) Demski is 2nd in the league in yards-after-catch with 272. Part of this is his own ability as a route runner who can find the open seam. But also, it is a testament to the QB quality. Catching passes in stride is key to creating yards-after-catch. The connection is there between Demski and his signal-caller.

B.J. Cunningham (MTL) $6,700 @ OTT

Speaking of QB connections, identifying who Matthew Shiltz will look to is key. The backup QB came in the game late for Montreal during Week 10. Down by 4 points, the team needed a last-minute TD drive to win the game. They succeeded and one of the most important plays came from B.J. Cunningham. On 2nd-and-6, Cunningham caught a pass from Shiltz that produced about 20 yards. It was a key to keeping the drive (and the game) alive. Cunningham led the Alouettes in receiving yards last week, and that play was a big part. Since Shiltz does not have many pass attempts this season, it is important to see who he had a connection with on that game-winning drive. And Cunningham caught arguably the most important of Shiltz’ 3 pass completions.

Josh Huff (CGY) $5,700 vs BC

Jevon Cottoy (BC) 5,200 @ CGY

Again I will mention stacking. For anyone taking B.C. QB Michael Reilly, there are a couple of key stacks in the 5K$ range. On the Lions side, my favorite price belongs to Canadian WR Jevon Cottoy. He is 3rd on B.C. in terms of most receiving stats. But with Lucky Whitehead still out, look for Cottoy to emerge as the number two option for Reilly. Cottoy has been consistent with at least 4 receptions in 5 straight games.

The best-run-it-back option is Josh Huff in my opinion. Like Cottoy, Huff in 3rd on his team in several receiving categories. And like Cottoy, Huff may be in line for more targets this week. We are unclear on Kamar Jorden’s status for Week 11. Should he miss another game, look for Huff to possibly lead the team in targets. It would not be unusual since he has already done that four times this season. Overall, Huff is one of my favorite options on the slate. You can stack him with either the B.C. or Calgary QB pretty easily.

Deep Dive

Keon Hatcher (BC) 2,900 @ CGY

One more stack for the B.C. @ Calgary contest. In only 4 games this season, Keon Hatcher already has 2 scores. While he didn’t find the end zone in Week 9, Hatcher did produce a season-high 4 catches and 54 receiving yards. Can he carry that momentum into Week 11? Even if he merely reproduces his Week 9 performance, it will be worth it at the sub-3K$ price tag.

Defense

Winnipeg Blue Bombers $5,700 @ EDM

Week-after-week, the Winnipeg defense continues to perform. Only once this season did that unit fail to produce double-digit fantasy points. That was in Week 4 against Calgary, a game where the Blue Bombers did not produce a turnover or a sack. The defense has been especially on fire of late with two 20+point fantasy performances in the last three games. That includes last week’s destruction of Edmonton where the Winnipeg defense produced 21 fantasy points without scoring a TD. Now in Week 11, the Blue Bombers once again take on the Elks. I’m sure Edmonton will make adjustments and potentially score more than 3 points, but they did appear completely outmatched last week.

Ottawa RedBlacks $3,300 vs MTL

For the value defense, I choose the Ottawa unit. Earlier in the article I mentioned the fact that Montreal backup Matthew Schiltz will take over at QB. While he did lead the game-winning drive against the RedBlacks in Week 10, there is still the question of how he will play over the course of an entire game. Furthermore, there is the issue of the Alouettes offensive line. While they allowed 20 points to be scored, Ottawa’s defense produced 6 sacks, including 2 for safeties. Regardless of QB, that is an issue for Montreal that the RedBlacks can exploit.
