DFS CFL Draftkings Lineup Advice 7/27/17
Welcome to Week 6 of the CFL Season. We have an exciting 4 game slate this week going Thurs-Saturday. Those of us who played last week will be happy to get paid before Monday night. Lets roll:
The week starts on Thursday with the 2-3 Alouettes heading to Winnipeg to play the Blue Bombers. The game started as the highest O/U on the week at 55. Now that its around 51 (depending on the site), I wont want as much exposure. Dressler at 7800 and Adams at 7300 are not low enough for me to bite in cash games. The only person I want heavy exposure to in this game is Andrew Harris. Dude is a machine. He’s averaging 100+ yards from scrimmage and 7 receptions a game. He is easily my #1 RB this week. I might have some GPP shares of Nichols, but at 9600 he’s not discounted enough for me to consider heavy ownership. The only thing that gives me pause on Dressler is this guy never has 2 bad games in a row. After being locked down in BC(4.9DKP), I think Nichols could look to get him the ball early. Other GPP options include T.J. Thorpe, who came out swinging with 14.5 DK in his first game at $4500. With Tyrell Sutton projected to be out, expect Ernest Jackson and BJ Cunningham to pick up the load.
On Friday night we travel to Edmonton to watch the rematch between the 4-0 Eskimos and the 4-1 BC Lions. These two teams squared off in Week 1 and Jeremiah Johnson ran all over the visiting Eskimos. On the road this time, he will find those holes a bit harder to come by. This is not to say hes not a good play, he’s my #2 RB this week behind Harris, As good as Travis Lulay has been in his last 2 starts, he faces a much stronger opponent in the Lions, assuming he starts at all. Keep an eye on the news there. My favorite play in this game is Bryant Mitchell. Coming in for the injured Bowman, he exploded for 20DK pts at minimum salary. This week, he’s 4000 but I think he’s still too cheap. He could easy go for 5/76/TD again. I also like Brandon Zylstra.
Yes, he’s expensive, but for good reason. This dude has a floor around 17 DK! (100yds/7receptions) With the 2nd highest o/u of the week at 29 I will have good ownership of both of these guys in tournaments, but they might both be in my cash game lineup as well! Lulay makes a good GPP option at QB. If youre going to pair him with anyone, I would go with Bryan Burnham or Jeremiah Johnson. Keep an eye on the status of Emmanuel Arceneaux as this may open up some value.
The early game on Saturday has the Toronto Argonauts traveling to Regina to play the Roughriders. With the lower O/U (52.5) of this game, I likely wont have much exposure. Ricky Ray is having a great year, but with the other QB options this week, I don’t see myself having much exposure. Same for Kevin Glenn. For GPP I always like to have some exposure to top receivers, so I will have some SJ Green and some Naman Roosevelt. After a couple strong weeks early, Bakari Grant had a slow week last week. For a gpp flyer, you might want to consider him.
The last game of the week is the big one, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at the Calgary Stampeders. Due to Hamiltons notoriously weak pass defense, and the strong defense of the Stampeders at home, Vegas has this game as the highest o/u of the week (55) and Calgary as a 12pt favorite! This may sway some people from using players due to blowout risk, but I think this is a good spot. Bo Levi Mitchel is my #1 QB on the week. His talent is obvious. He likes playing at home (most QBs do) and he gets the worst pass defense in the league. MONEY! Bo has several top receivers but my #1 guy is Kamar Jorden, though DaVaris Daniels, Marquay McDaniel and Lemar Durant (value) are all good options as well. Top fantasy experts always recommend taking a RB at home that is a huge favorite, so Jerome Messam is in play, though his upside is limited as he doesn’t get much use in the passing game. I like a couple plays on the Hamilton side. My top play is Jalen Saunders, He is quietly averaging 18 DK per game but is still priced at 6300. He gets plenty of targets and that will continue this week as we expect them to throw from behind. Another good mid-range option would be Luke Tasker. Bryan Tyms makes an interesting gpp option, but I wouldn’t use him in cash.
