Pitchers
For my Hitter picks and analysis, click NEXT!
Yu Darvish
Darvish will make his Cubs debut against the Marlins. He’ll pitch in a pitchers park and has the lowest OTT (see pitcher chart) of the entire day. He’s also the biggest favorite on the day. The Marlins are a weak offense and with Darvish’s high strikeout rate, he is one of the best plays on Saturday. His price is somewhat restrictive, but if some value bats are available, Darvish is a solid place to spend up.
James Paxton
Paxton will face a Cleveland team taking a park hit traveling to Safeco Field. Paxton struggled with injuries last season, but when he was healthy, he was a fantastic pitcher. At $8,200 on DraftKings, Paxton is cheaper than many of the other aces on the slate. He has an OTT of just 3.5 and Vegas projects the matchup to be a near pick’em. Initially, I expected Vegas to favor Cleveland in this matchup, but the fact that they think the matchup will be close gives me even more confidence in Paxton.
Luis Castillo
Castillo is certainly a risky option against the Nationals in Great American Ballpark, but he has some upside as well. He has a high strikeout rate, and struck out at least six batters in ten of his 15 starts last season. Even if he gives up some runs in a hitter friendly ballpark, the strikeouts will help him reach value for just $6,000 on DraftKings.

Hitters
Giancarlo Stanton
Stanton will likely remain on the top hitters list until his price increases. He’ll face Marco Estrada in the Rogers Centre and is once again the best bet for a home run on the day.
George Springer/Astros Bats
Springer will have the platoon advantage against Matt Moore. Moore is a below-average pitcher at this point in his career and the Astros have the highest team run total by a large margin. My favorite Astros bat is Springer, but you can make a case for pretty much all of them. They are my favorite stack of the day.
Josh Donaldson/Blue Jays Bats
I don’t think I can play Donaldson in cash games because he may be hurt, but at his price, he’s a great tournament option. He’ll face C.C. Sabathia in the Rogers Centre and hold the platoon advantage against a lefty who is way past his prime. The Blue Jays have the second highest team run total of the day, so almost all of the Blue Jays righties are in play.
