Top Plays

Robbie Ray

Pitching is ugly on Tuesday. There are a lot of players who may project better if they get a soft lineup against them. It’s hard to make a call this early on a bad slate, but if I’m choosing one pitcher right now it’s Robbie Ray. When Ray faced the Giants earlier this year, he played them in a hitter friendly ballpark. He now travels to San Francisco, a pitcher friendly park. He’s priced up, but if Bruce Bochy continues to bat Brandon Belt second against lefties, I can see Ray as a solid starter.

Tyler Skaggs

Depending on the lineup the Rangers roll out there, Skaggs looks to be a solid value pitcher. He may give up a few runs today, but he has enough strikeout upside to make it worth the risk. I’m going to play more tournaments than cash games today, and Skaggs is a great example of why. He’s a high risk, high reward play, which is perfect for tournaments, and there aren’t many safe pitchers to allow me to create solid cash game lineups.

Coors Field

With Jerad Weaver on the mound, you can expect multiple home runs from the Rockies in this game. I’m going to do everything I can to get as much Rockies exposure as possible, even if it means punting pitching. The Rockies are priced reasonably (for a Coors game), and I think it’s possible to fit four or five Rockies in your lineup.

Giancarlo Stanton

I love Stanton’s power upside against Bartolo Colon. Since I’m trying to play mostly tournaments on this slate, upside is everything and Stanton has multi-home run upside.

Ryan Braun

Another hitter with upside is Ryan Braun, especially since he has the platoon advantage, is hitting at the Rogers Center, and is priced at only $4,300 on DraftKings!

Notes

I like the idea of stacking Blue Jays against Wily Peralta, but would like to see a few lefties near the top of the order.

I will be playing very few cash games on Tuesday. This seems like the classic tournament-only slate to me.

Evan Gattis and Mark Trumbo have excellent power projections for today, and may go under owned.

Many factors can change between the time I write this article and the time lineups lock. I’ll do my best to update the article, so checking back frequently is encouraged. You can also ask questions on Twitter @fantasbeast15. I’ll do my best to get to all of them!
