Top Plays

Chris Archer

Archer is one of my favorite pitchers to play in DFS. Last season, I actually submitted more lineups with Archer in them than I did with Clayton Kershaw. Archer is usually underpriced for his strikeout upside, which is the case again on this slate. He comes in at a significant discount compared to Madison Bumgarner and gets to pitch in pitcher-friendly Tropicana Field, rather than hitter-friendly Chase Field. I’m looking Archer’s way in both my cash game and tournament lineups.

Paul Goldschmidt

I understand that Goldschmidt will face Madison Bumgarner, but on a three-game slate, we can select great hitters with the platoon advantage for a depressed price. Chase Field plays as a hitters park, and I have Goldschmidt as the most likely player to hit a home run in Sunday’s slate. Even against Bumgarner, I’ll likely have Goldschmidt in my lineups.

Related Articles

A.J. Pollock

Pollock is another hitter who’s matchup is better than it looks on paper. He will also have the platoon advantage at Chase field and is simply too cheap. Pollock is a near lock in my DraftKings lineups on Sunday.

Buster Posey

Catcher is ugly on a such a small slate, and while Chris Iannetta is a better value, Posey projects for more points. Since I’m likely going with Archer as my SP1, I don’t need to save at catcher and can afford to plug in Posey.

Notes

Corey Dickerson is leading off for the Rays, I like him as a low-priced outfield option.

There’s a slight risk of rain in the Cubs/Cardinals game so make sure you check the weather before submitting lineups.

Chris Iannetta is not in the lineup. Jeff Mathis is starting, batting 8th.

Many factors can change between the time I write this article and the time lineups lock. I’ll do my best to update the article, so checking back frequently is encouraged. You can also ask questions on Twitter @fantasbeast15. I’ll do my best to get to all of them!
