MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 6/2/2017

Last Updated: 6/2/2017 – 7:07 AM CT

The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!

Top Plays

Clayton Kershaw

While Kershaw is getting a park downgrade traveling to Miller Park, he’s the clear top option. He’s the largest favorite and has the lowest OTT. He’ll face the Brewers who strike out 25.4% of the time against lefties, third worst in the league. The Brewers will still be without Ryan Braun, and their best power threats are both left handed. I’m locking Kershaw into every lineup.

Michael Fulmer

Fulmer isn’t a guy I usually write up, but he’s priced in SP2 territory and is facing the White Sox. I’ve picked on the White Sox all year when they face righties, and it’s worked well. The White Sox have the sixth highest strikeout percentage and the third lowest wRC+ against righties. Fulmer is the second largest favorite on the slate and has thrown at least six innings in every start this season. He has a solid floor, with at least 12 DK points in every game this year except one, and has the upside of 25 DK points against a bad White Sox offense.

Clayton Richard

In tournaments, I’m tempted to pair Richard with Kershaw. Richard is just $5,200 on DraftKings and he’s pitched better than his price. He has a 4.33 ERA, but a 3.84 SIERA and a 3.48 xFIP meaning he’s been somewhat unlucky with earned runs. The Rockies take a park hit as they travel to Petco Park and aren’t a great offense against lefties. They have the sixth highest strikeout percentage and are tied for 19th in wRC+ against southpaws. Richard might be too risky for cash games, but in tournaments, I may double up on Claytons.

Jedd Gyorko/Matt Carpenter/Cardinals

The Cardinals bats are too cheap on DraftKings. Gyorko ($3,200) and Carpenter ($3,400) are incredibly underpriced for their matchup against John Lackey at Wrigley Field. I’m locking them into my cash game lineup as a way to save money without punting talent. The entire Cardinals team is mispriced, so if you need a value bat, look to the Cardinals. The only issue is you have to play the all day slate to have access to these values.

Miguel Cabrera

Cabrera will face Derek Holland at home. He’ll have the platoon advantage against a weak lefty and only costs $4,200 on DraftKings. He’s a cash game lock for me. The Tigers have a team run total of five and should be able to get to Holland early in this game. This is a matchup where you expect to see Cabrera priced near $5,000, but I’ll gladly take the discount and spend elsewhere.

Yasmani Grandal/Corey Seager/Cody Bellinger

Grandal and Seager are near locks for me in the main slate against Jimmy Nelson in Miller Park. They will both hold the platoon advantage against Nelson who struggles against lefties. Miller Park is a great park for lefty power, and both Grandal and Seager can hit home runs. Cody Bellinger is a great play for the same reasons, but is priced up, and I prefer Cabrera at first base. You could slot Bellinger into the outfield, but the opportunity cost may be too high. I’ll have exposure to Bellinger in tournaments, but I’m currently looking elsewhere in cash games.
