MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 6/22/2017

Last Updated: 6/22/2017 – 7:16 AM CT

The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!

Top Plays

Carlos Martinez

Martinez is priced too high for cash games, but makes a great tournament play. Everyone else will pay down at pitcher to fit in bats, so Martinez will come in at relatively low ownership. Martinez has the lowest OTT (see pitcher chart) on the slate and has one of the highest strikeout rates as well. The Phillies have the fifth highest strikeout percentage and the second-lowest wRC+ against righties. Other than a bad park, it’s a fantastic matchup for Martinez.

Jake Arrieta

Arrieta will face the Marlins in pitcher-friendly Marlins Park. He’s tied with Martinez for lowest OTT on the slate. Arrieta is priced at $8,800 which makes it easier to play him given his struggles this season. Right now, I’m considering Arrieta as an SP2 in tournaments, and a weak Marlins lineup could make him a cash game consideration as well.

Coors Bats

The Diamondbacks exploded yesterday scoring 16 runs. While I don’t expect that, they are the top offense today. Paul Goldschmidt costs $5,900 on DraftKings, but with the pitching options today, I think you can fit him. David Peralta is also a great option for cash games. Jake Lamb would be a solid choice, but I’ll likely lean on Nolan Arenado for my third base play in cash games and save Lamb for tournament stacks. Arenado, Charlie Blackmon, Trevor Story, and Carlos Gonzalez are all in consideration for cash games from the Rockies side, and I’d rank them in that order.

Notes

Aaron Nola doesn’t have a great park or matchup, but he is one of the more talented pitchers on the slate. You can get him on DraftKings for $6600, allowing you to fit in Coors or Yankees bats.

Nik Turley is also incredibly cheap on DraftKings at $4,300. Pairing Turley with Nola in tournaments is interesting due to their prices and upside.

Yankees bats are priced as high as Coors bats, but there is a path to fitting in Gary Sanchez or Aaron Judge if you’re playing the all-day slate.

Eric Thames projects well for this slate and has a top-five home run projection today.

Matt Kemp is a solid option in both cash games and tournaments, facing Matt Cain in a hitter-friendly ballpark.

The pitching chart will be updated often. Make sure to check back for the newest information, especially if a column is currently incomplete!
