MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 6/23/2017

Last Updated: 6/23/2017 – 9:51 AM CT

The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!

Top Plays

Alex Wood

Wood will face the Rockies who take a huge park hit traveling to Dodger Stadium. The Rockies have the 9th highest strikeout percentage against lefties and project way worse on the road. He has an elite strikeout rate at 29.8% and some of the best Rockies hitters hit from the left side of the plate. Wood is a heavy favorite and has one of the lower OTTs on the slate. Wood is only $9,600 on DraftKings and will be in my cash game lineup.

Stephen Strasburg

Strasburg will face the Reds in Nationals Park. The Reds take a park hit and while they’re a solid offense, they aren’t dominant and have one of the lowest team run totals on the slate. Strasburg has strikeout upside and is the biggest favorite on the slate. He’s got a great shot at the win and has as much upside as any pitcher on the slate. He’s in consideration for both cash games and tournaments.

Chris Archer

Archer is my favorite tournament play on the slate. I’m considering him for cash games due to his upside, even at his elevated price. The Orioles strike out 22.9% of the time against righties and have a wRC+ lower than most realize (16th in the league). They take a huge park hit traveling to Tropicana Field. There is plenty of strikeout upside with Archer, and I think the run prevention will be there as well.

Edwin Encarnacion

Encarnacion gets a solid matchup against Aldaberto Mejia. He’s priced up too high for cash game if you’re pairing two aces, but he’s firmly in play for tournaments. He’ll have the platoon advantage against Mejia and will hit in a great ballpark. Encarnacion has been on fire lately and I’ll ride that streak in tournaments in a great matchup.

Value Plays

It looks like pairing two aces is the way to go in cash games. Because of this, we’ll need to find some value plays. Here are my favorites as of now, but lineups will help open up more value. All prices are from DraftKings.

C – Alex Avila – $3,600

1B – Miguel Cabrera – $3,600

2B – Rougned Odor – $3,400

3B – Wilmer Flores – $2,600

OF – Mallex Smith – $3,600

OF – Khris Davis – $4,100

Notes

Bryce Harper is the top overall play on today’s slate, but is a tournament play due to his high price.

If you can handle the possibility of 0-5 with a few strikeouts, Eric Thames is a great play. He’s boom/bust, but has a great matchup and solid park against Mike Foltynewicz in SunTrust Park.
