MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 6/24/2017

The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!
Top Plays
Clayton Kershaw
Kershaw is a steal tomorrow on DraftKings, priced at $12,500. The Rockies project to be a much worse offense on the road, and I love to target lefties against them when they’re away from Coors Field. Kershaw is the largest favorite on the main slate, and I fully expected to be him priced near $14,000. At what I consider a discount, he’s a lock for cash games and hard to fade in tournament.
David Price
Price is the second-largest favorite on the slate and even though it’s mostly because of the Red Sox offense, the four points for the win matters. Price has had a rough season, but he’s now priced low enough to consider as an SP2. The Angels don’t strike often, but they aren’t a great offense in general. I love the play for tournaments and will at least consider Price in cash games at his price of $7,700.
Corey Kluber
Kluber has been amazing over the past few games, and gets a boom/bust matchup against the Twins. The Twins have some strikeouts in their lineup and Kluber has some built in. Even though Kluber is priced up, he’s the best option for the early slate. The Twins have the 12th highest wRC+ against righties and strike out 22% of the time. I don’t love the matchup and the park, but it’s hard to bet against Kluber. I won’t be playing cash games for the early slate, but will have exposure to Kluber in my tournament lineups.
Mookie Betts/Red Sox
Betts will face JC Ramirez in Fenway Park. The Red Sox have the second highest team run total on the day, and highest on the main slate. Betts is priced at $5,200 on DraftKings which is high, but not unreasonable. Andrew Benintendi is priced at only $4,300 on DraftKings and even if he’s hitting lower in the order, I’m interested in him for my cash game and tournament lineups. Benintendi will have the platoon advantage and will be in a position to drive in some runs. Hanley Ramirez has been cold lately, making me nervous to use him in cash games, but he’s one of my favorite first base plays due to his $3,600 price tag.
Khris Davis
This is a dream matchup for Davis against James Shields. Shields gives up 1.61 HR/9 and Davis hits righties well. Davis leads all players today in home run projection, and it’s one of the highest home run projections this season. He’s priced at just $4,100 on DraftKings, so whether you’re playing the early slate or the all-day slate, Davis should be the first player locked into your lineup.
Jose Pirela
In the main slate, you’re paying for Kershaw, so you’ll need to find some value plays even if they aren’t full punts. Pirela will likely lead off against Anibal Sanchez and costs $3,600. Sanchez isn’t a good pitcher anymore and Pirela is underrated. I’ll also consider Hunter Renfroe if he’s hitting clean up for $3,400. Renfroe has a decent shot at a home run and a good shot to at least drive in some runs. Sanchez is one of the pitchers I like to pick on, and the cheap prices of the Padres make that easy to do.
Notes
Jacob deGrom is a solid tournament play against the Giants who have the worst wRC+ in the league. You can’t pair him with Kershaw due to the price, but he’s an interesting tournament pivot.
