MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 6/4/2017

Last Updated: 6/4/2017 – 7:45 AM CT

The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!

Top Plays

Chris Sale

This is just the obligatory Chris Sale plug. He’s great, play him. The Orioles are a tough offense, but are worse against lefties. Sale’s strikeout rate is incredible at 36.4%. Even when he gave up five earned runs in his last start, he struck out nine in five innings. He’s safe because even when he allows runs, he strikes out enough batters to finish with a solid fantasy performance.

Justin Verlander

Verlander will face the White Sox who get a park downgrade and are bad against righties. Verlander isn’t as good as he’s been in years past, but his price has come down to a playable level. I’m considering Verlander in cash games and will certainly have exposure in tournaments.

Luis Severino

Severino is my favorite tournament play. He’ll face the Blue Jays in a tough park, but the Jays are in the middle of the pack in both K% and wRC+ against righties. Severino continues to generate strikeouts and ground balls, and has a 3.07 SIERA this season. I think some will be scared off by the park and the Blue Jays with Josh Donaldson back, but I’ll have a healthy amount of tournament exposure to Severino.

Kenta Maeda

The Brewers can be risky to target because the have some power, but their strikeouts make up for it. They’ve struck out 40 times in the first two games of the series against Dodgers. Maeda is priced way too low for his talent and matchup at just $7,400 on DraftKings. I am strongly considering Maeda as my SP2 in cash games on DraftKings, and he has enough strikeout upside against the Brewers offense for tournaments as well.

Dodgers Bats

Corey Seager, Cody Bellinger, Yasmani Grandal, Adrian Gonzalez, and Logan Forsythe are all in play in their matchup against Zach Davies. Davies has a low strikeout percentage and Miller Park is a great park for lefty power, helping four of the five guys I meantioned. I don’t expect Davies to go deep in this game, and the Brewers have a bad bullpen as well. I’m loading up on Dodgers in tournament and am considering Seager, Grandal and Forsythe in cash games.

J.D. Martinez/Miguel Cabrera/Nick Castellanos

The Tigers will take on David Holmberg in Comerica Park. Holmberg has a 15.1% strikeout rate, and the Tigers have the highest team run total on the day. Cabrera is a near lock at his price, and Martinez has multi-home run upside in this matchup. Castellanos is just too cheap on DraftKings at $3,300. Holmberg has yet to give up a home run, but his career HR/FB is 16.5%. He also has a 2.51 ERA, but a 4.96 SIERA, meaning he’s due for regression. I think it starts today so I’ll be plugging these Tigers bats into my lineups.

Notes

Mookie Betts and Andrew Benintendi are great plays against Chris Tillman.

Joey Votto is a solid tournament pivot at first base against Julio Teheran.

The pitching chart will be updated often. Make sure to check back for the newest information, especially if a column is currently incomplete!
