DFS NBA FanDuel Lineup 1/10/18

What’s up GoingFor2 readers, hopefully, you were able to catch my article yesterday. Overall it did pretty well with my best call being Goran Dragic who had 49 FanDuel points. Tonight’s slate is a good one. I will try to get the spreadsheet up today around noon. If you want to be notified when the sheet is published, download the GoingFor2 app here. The spreadsheet also loads much faster on the App. Let’s get to today’s advice…

Point Guard

NBA FanDuel Lineup 1/10/18

Nothing But Net | Stephen Curry $10,500 vs LAC

Assuming Kevin Durant is out, I will be saving the $600 to use Curry over Russell Westbrook. Westbrook is on a back to back road game against the Timberwolves that have been playing great team defense lately. The Clippers, on the other hand, give up 44.84 Fanduel points to point guards over the last four weeks. Curry’s usage rate jumps a tremendous 7 percent when Durant is out, up to a ridiculous 39.6 percent (per RotoGrinders).

Dunk | Eric Bledsoe $8,300 vs ORL

The Magic are dead last on the year and fifth worse over the last four weeks at defending the point guard spot (per Rotogrinders). Bledsoe has been a bit inconsistent of late, but I’m expecting him to be good in this elite matchup.

Half-Court Shot | Shabazz Napier $4,200 @ HOU

At $4,200, as long as Damian Lillard is out again, this one is a no-brainer. Napier may be earning himself a starting point guard spot in the near future if he continues to play the way he has. The Blazers may look to move him before the trade deadline, but that’s neither here nor there. He may see some Chris Paul defense, but Paul will also be on CJ McCollum some as well, so Napier will have plenty of chances to hit value and then some.

Blocked Shot |Dennis Schroder $7,300 @ DEN

The Hawks have a lot working against them before they even arrive at the arena. First, they are playing their third game in five nights, and second, they are playing in Denver where that altitude will be an issue. Historically speaking, teams going to Denver on back-to-backs or at the end of long road trips, tend to come out flat. Schroder will likely struggle with fatigue as he has been carrying this team the last few games.

Shooting Guard

NBA FanDuel Lineup 1/10/18

Nothing But Net | Victor Oladipo $9,600 vs MIA

Oladipo should be over 10k, and as long as he remains below that mark, I’ll continue to recommend him. He only put up 34.1 FanDuel points in his last game, but his low output had more to do with game-flow than anything. The Pacers were up 37-to-16 after one quarter, Dipo wasn’t needed, as his teammates — like Miles Turner — were all balling out.

Dunk | Donovan Mitchell $7,200 @ WAS

Mitchell has been solid over his last five games, scoring less than 35 FanDuel points only once over that span — a span that also included a 50.8 point explosion against the Cavs. This will be a pace-up game for the Jazz. Pace tends to favor the home team, in this case, the Wizards, and the Wizards play at a much faster pace than do the Jazz, leading to more possessions for Mitchell to put up FanDuel points.

Half-Court Shot | Avery Bradley $4,900 @ BKN

Bradley finally got back into form after missing seven games. His last game against the Pels, his fourth game back, he had 39.6 Fanduel points. The Pels and Nets play at a similar pace, so this too will be a pace up game for Bradley over the relatively slow-paced Pistons.

Blocked Shot | CJ McCollum $7,500 @ HOU

I think McCollum will see more of Chris Paul then he will Eric Gordon. I’d expect Paul to be on McCollum at the end of both halves where the Blazers like to put it in his hands. If that’s the case, CJ could be in for a long night. I don’t have any inside information, but that’s what my gut tells me.

Small Forward

NBA FanDuel Lineup 1/10/18

Nothing But Net | Jimmy Butler $9,700 vs OKC

Butler has been playing like the guy the Timberwolves thought they were getting when they signed him. His floor is high as he fills up the box score with points, assists, rebounds and steals. His usage rate has gone up over the last month and despite the tough matchup with Paul George, I think he can put up some big numbers again tonight.

Dunk | Paul George $7,900 @ MIN

I’m recommending both small forwards from this game as I think Paul will be able to bounce back from a bad game last night in which he only had 26.8 FanDuel points. The way the Thunder do their rotations, with George exiting early in the first quarter, George will play a lot in the second quarter when Butler is resting. That should help him to put up a nice cushion of FanDuel points.

Half-Court Shot | Joe Harris $4,000 vs DET

I’m reaching deep for this one, but hear me out. DeMarre Carroll (knee) has already been ruled out for this game and Harris has logged 37 and 32 minutes in his last two games, scoring 28.4 and 21.2 FanDuel points respectively. At $4,000, that’s five times value and a great cash game play for some salary relief.

Blocked Shot | Harrison Barnes $6,500 @ CHA

Both teams play at a snail’s pace, it’s a tough matchup for Barnes, and it’s the second game of a back-to-back. No thanks.

Power Forward

NBA FanDuel Lineup 1/10/18

Nothing But Net | Kristaps Porzingis $9,500 vs CHI

Porzingis gets the NBN tag by default, the three other players that could have taken that tag are all GTD and unlikely to play. You can play this position one of two ways. Pay down since all the top players, except Porzingis, are likely out and use this position as a way to save some money. Or, use Porzinigis because everyone else is likely to pay down to save money, leaving Zingis low-owned.

Either way, Zingis is still a good play, but he may be a bit overpriced.

Dunk | Tobias Harris $6,700 @ BKN

Harris is one of those players that never get rostered but always seems to put up good numbers. The Nets are fourth worse in defending the power forward, giving up 51.62 FanDuel points. Harris has back-to-back 40-plus FanDuel point games and is likely to get a third.

Half-Court Shot | Ersan Ilyasova $5,700 @ DEN

I have a soft spot for Ily. Every time I think he has found a home in the NBA, he gets traded somewhere else. The Hawks seem to be his home for now as he has started and played well for about five weeks. He has scored at least 31 FanDuel points in six of his last eight games and the Nuggets have given up 48.68 FanDuel points over the last four weeks. A match made in heaven for Ily.

Blocked Shot | Aaron Gordon $7,600 @ MIL

He will see a lot of the Greek Freak in this game, and the Freak is one player I try to avoid.

Center

NBA FanDuel Lineup 1/10/18

Nothing But Net | Karl-Anthony Towns $9,600 vs OKC

Towns has become a double-double machine. He has a double-double in 10 of his last 11 games and has at least one block in all but two of those games. He is finally making a bid to be considered elite — as long as he can maintain this level of play. He has a tough matchup with Steven Adams, but with the way he is playing, it would be hard to pass him up for under 10k.

Dunk | Hassan Whiteside $7,600 @ IND

Ugh. I hate recommending him, but the Pacers are the third worst team defending the center position over the last four weeks and Whiteside has played pretty good lately. Miles Turner is one of the worst defenders in the league and Whiteside should own him.

Half-Court Shot | Bismack Biyombo $5,600 @ MIL

Going for the trifecta with centers against the Bucks. I went with Marcin Gortat a few nights ago, Miles Turner on Monday and now Biyombo. The Bucks have a way to make average centers look great, and that will be the case tonight too.

Blocked Shot | DeAndre Jordan $8,000 @ GSW

Jordan struggles against the Warriors. In fact, he has averaged only 27.1 FanDuel points per game against them over the last two years. I don’t see that changing.
