DFS NBA FanDuel Lineup Value Plays 1/15/18
Wow, what a weekend of NFL games. Well, mostly Sunday. Well, mostly the Saints and Vikings! Wow. I don’t think I’ve ever seen something like that before. Congrats to the Vikings fans and good luck. I think every non-Patriots fan will be rooting for you because you may be the last hope to keep the Pats from winning another Super Bowl.
Okay, enough football. Today we have a surprisingly short slate for a Monday due to the holiday, and with only four games, there aren’t enough players to do my typical full write-up. Instead, I will look at some of the value plays on the slate. Let’s get started…
*all values will be under $5,500
Point Guards
George Hill $4,600 @ OKC
This will be Hill’s third game back from a three-game absence after the birth of his child. His first game back was a good one with 36.1 FanDuel points, his second one left a lot to be desired with only 12.2. He only played 19 minutes in that second game, well below his season average. I have no explanation as to why he only got 19 minutes — maybe it was the blowout? Either way, he has the upside of 30-plus at only $4,600. If you only run one or two rosters, he isn’t someone you would want to roster, but if you like to play a ton of GPP lineups, I’d have exposure to Hill in at least one or two lineups.
Darren Collison $5,300 @ UTA
I don’t have final stats for Collison from last night’s game because the game was still going on at the time I was writing this column, but he has 30-point upside and gets a dream matchup. The Jazz are dead last over the last four weeks defending the point guard position giving up 53.67 FanDuel points over that span.
Shooting Guards
Bogdan Bogdanovic $5,400 @ OKC
With Andre Roberson — a plus defender — already ruled out for this game, Bogdanovic makes for a good value play. Unlike the other guards on this team, he is the only one that gets consistent minutes game-in-and-game-out. He has put up four straight games of 25 FanDuel points or more (his last game was 24.9, close enough) and this should be a pace up game for the Kings, meaning more shots for BogBog.
Small Forwards
Lance Stephenson $5,100 @ UTA
Stephenson has two straight games with 30 Fanduel points or more and that’s with Victor Oladipo in the lineup. He seems to be carving out a decent sized role in this offense, and as long as he doesn’t play himself off the court with dumb plays — which he is prone to do — he should log 25-plus minutes. The Jazz presents a tough matchup, but Stephenson has never been shy about shooting. If his shot is falling, volume alone will be enough reason to roster him.

Joe Johnson $4,300 vs IND
Johnson has started to pick up more minutes over his last five games, and with the season-ending injury to Thabo Sefolosha, he should continue to play heavier than normal minutes. Johnson is a risk, but he has the upside to put up decent numbers if he can get hot. The Pacers are sixth worst over the last four weeks defending the small forward giving up 42.11 Fanduel points a game, on average.
Power Forwards
Montrezl Harrell $5,400 vs HOU
Harrell is only playable if DeAndre Jordan misses another game. Assuming Jordan does miss, Harrell gets a matchup with a Rockets team giving up 46.48 Fanduel points to power forwards. Harrell will play center at times, and the Rockets are better at defending centers, but Harrell is still worth the risk — if Jordan is out.
Center
Willie Reed $4,300
Like Harrel, Reed is only playable is Jordan is out. He had a huge game last time they played, scoring 44.6 FanDuel points. He filled up the box score with 14 points, 13 rebounds and two assists, blocks and steals. I doubt he puts up 44 Fanduel points tonight — or ever again for the matter — but at $4,300 you will take 25-to-30.
