DFS NBA FanDuel Starting 5 Lineup Advice 2/12/18

We are gonna keep it short and sweet tonight. I was bust sweating out my S5 lineups last night that I have run out of time. I had a shot at taking down a GPP last night, so I was to engrossed in watching Joe Ingles that I kept forgetting to write. Anyway, let’s get to it.

We have a good sized six-game slate today and a few games that should be high-paced, high-scoring affairs. There are tons of good matchups, and very few players I “hate”. We have less than a week before All-Star break, so lets make some money this week…

NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

**Main Slate

Guards

Nothing But Net | Steph Curry $15,000

I try not to just take the top guy at a position and list him as the NBN, because, let’s face, anyone can do that. In this case, however, Curry is so far and away the better play over any other guard that I would be doing you a disservice if I didn’t recommend him.

The Suns are the third worst team in points allowed to PGs, giving up 48 FanDuel points per game. This game will be played at breakneck speed as both teams are in the top three for pace — only the Lakers play faster than these two teams. The only thing you worry about here is the dreaded “blowout” factor. I, for one, never really worry about the blowout factor, in order for there to be a blowout, a lot of points have to be scored, and three quarters of Curry is better than five quarters of some other guards.

Dunk | Spencer Dinwiddie $12,500 vs LAC

I think someone forgot to tell Dinwiddle the Nets are trying to lose games! He has averaged over 38 FanDuel points over his last six games and has two straight double-doubles. This too should be a high-paced game with the Clippers at No. 8 in pace and the Nets at No. 6. Vegas lines haven’t been released at the time I wrote this, but I bet this game has a pretty high over/under.

Half-Court Shot | Austin Rivers $10,000 @ BKN

From that same game, we have the “coaches son” Austin Rivers (heel) who recently returned from a long absence due to injury. In his two games back he has logged over 30 minutes in both and put up 24.9 and 29.7 FanDuel points respectively. As I mentioned, this will be a fast-paced game much like the Warriors/Suns game, but it’s much cheaper to get some good exposure to this game over the Warriors game.

Blocked Shot | NONE

Literally not one player I don’t like at guard enough to fade him completely.

Honorable Mentions: Zach LaVine $13,000, Elfrid Payton $12,500, J.J. Redick $10,000

Forwards

Nothing But Net | Blake Griffin $14,000 vs NOP

Looking at the top-tier forwards tonight, Griffin has the perfect blend of price, upside and floor. He isn’t as expensive as Kevin Durant, but he has similar upside. He is averaging over 40 Fanduel points since becoming a Detriot Piston, and in the one game he faced the Pelicans last season, he killed them for 27 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks. This game won’t have the pace of the first two we talked about, but all three big men in this game will put big numbers.

Dunk | T.J. Warren $12,500 @ GSW

I only like Warren if Devin Booker is out, but if Booker does miss another game, Warren will fly under the radar. He is playing in what should be the highest paced game on the slate, and yes, his matchup isn’t great but his usage goes up to 30 percent when Booker is off the floor. That alone will make anyone a good play.

Half-Court Shot | DeMarre Carroll vs LAC $10,500

Going to the well once again for some cheap value in a high-paced game. Carroll always plays big minutes, and over the last week or more has become more involved in the offense. Not only has he been scoring, having four straight games in double-digit points, but over his last two games he has 21 total rebounds and nine total assists. He is also always a good source of steals as well.

Blocked Shot | Ben Simmons $14,000 vs NY

It’s not that I hate Simmons here. I think he has a good matchup and could be a good play, I just think he is a little to rich for my blood. I’d much rather have Griffin for the same price or pay up for Kevin Durant.

Honorable Mentions: Josh Jackson $12,000, Mario Hezonja $10,500

Centers

Nothing But Net | Andre Drummond $15,500

Drummond gets the nod over Anthony Davis strictly based on his $1,000 discount. Drummond has averaged over 60 FanDuel points over his last five games, and while the matchup with Davis is a tough one, I think he will still have 15-plus rebounds in this game. In fact, only the Kings have given up more rebounds to power forwards over the last four weeks than have the Pels.

Dunk | Enes Kanter $12,000 @ PHI

Kanter has been on a double-double tear of late, posting seven straight such games dating back to late January.  The biggest concern with him is foul trouble limiting his minutes, which is entirely possible in a matchup with Joel Embiid. However, on a night with a bunch of top-tier options, I like Kanter as a good mid-range value.

Half-Court Shot | NONE

After Kanter, there isn’t much I like. Kanter is likely the lowest I will pay for a center tonight, unless, of course, new value opens up as the day goes on.

Blocked Shot | NONE

Honorable Mentions: Joel Embiid $15,500
