Just got back from vacation and not a ton of time to do a write-up for Saturday’s games. I apologize for the quick analysis, but this slate is pretty straight-forward for me. Their are a couple of position groups that are very thin on these teams. Play those players…

Quarterbacks

Nick Mullens (SF)

Mullens and Beathard are both in a battle for the backup job in San Francisco and both will play a good deal of snaps in this game. I think both QBs are viable options, but if you play Mullens be sure to stack him with Kendrick Borne. Borne was one of his favorite targets last season.

C.J. Beathard (SF)

Beathard may end up losing the backup to Mullens, but in this preseason game, Beathard may be the better play strictly because of his legs. He had a 62-yard TD in the preseason last year with his legs.

Blake Bortles (LAR)

Bortles isn’t a very good QB, we all know that, but one thing he does well is run the ball. He has never had fewer than 300-yards rushing in a season and has never finished lower than seventh in rushing yards by a QB for a season.

Mike Glennon (OAK)

This is an easy choice. There are only three QBs on the roster, one is starter Derek Carr that figures to play limited snaps. The other is famous for throwing four interceptions in the first half of a game, Nathan Peterman. That leaves Mike Glennon.

Running Backs

Jeff Wilson (SF)/Raheem Mostert (SF)

Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida have already locked in a top spot on the depth chart and won’t play much. Jerrick McKinnon is dealing with knee issues still. That leaves a ton of snaps for 2018 waiver wire heroes, Jeff Wilson and Raheem Mostert.

Tony Pollard (DAL)

They are talking up Pollard in camp like he is the second coming of Ezekiel Elliott. With the contract issues still ongoing, they can only hope he is half the running back Zeke is.

Trayveon Williams (CIN)

Gio Bernard and Joe Mixon aren’t likely to see many snaps. Fellow rookie Rodney Anderson has already been ruled out. That leaves the intriguing rookie Williams as a player that should get a good amount of snaps.

Darwin Thompson (KC)

Any of the Chiefs RBs could be viable. I’ll take my shot on the rookie to play the most snaps.

Wide Receivers

Byron Pringle (KC)

He has been the darling of the preseason so far for the Chiefs, let’s see if it translates to a game.

Auden Tate (CIN)

I loved Tate last year, let’s see if he can do this during a game…

Josh Malone (CIN)

Malone has been the WR stepping into A.J. Green’s shoes, and from all accounts, he has not disappointed. In fact, the beat reporters have him, not John Ross, as the WR to take Green’s spot in the starting lineup.

Hunter Renfrow (OAK)

Another rookie WR that has worked his way into the conversation as a starter. Renfrow may be the slot WR in this offense for Week 1.

Kendrick Borne (SF)

Borne was the 49ers leading WR last year. That’s not saying much but it is saying something. Nick Mullens was his QB last year for most of his targets and yards, they are a good stack option.

Tight Ends/Defense

I’m not even going to bother writing up the TE position tonight. These are the two guys I’ll have the most exposure too.

Foster Moreau (OAK)

Drew Sample (CIN)

Kansas City Chiefs vs CIN

Chiefs play well at home…even in the preseason. Also, Jeff Driskel.

Oakland Raiders vs LAR

Rams have notoriously sat all their starters in the preseason, no reason to think they won’t do it again. Also, Blake Bortles.
