DFS NFL FanDuel/DraftKings Week 2 Lineup Advice (9/15/19)

DFS NFL FanDuel/DraftKings Week 2 Lineup Advice (9/15/19)

Last Sunday was a good one with Lamar Jackson and the 49ers defense carrying a lot of my lineups into the cash. I’m hoping to repeat that success this Sunday. Be sure to check out the Armchair Fantasy Show Live Friday @ 930pm EST, subscribe to the show on YouTube here and hit that little bell to be alerted when we go live. We will break down the entire slate.

Explosive PlayMy top play for the position
Deep ThreatA deep threat is a second or third tier player that will outperform their price on FanDuel/DraftKings.
Hail MaryAlso know as a punt, a Hail Mary is a cheap, low-owned player with a ton of upside. Great for GPP's.
Missed TackleA missed tackle is a first or second tier player that I’ll be fading in my contests.

*note* Prices are based on DraftKings, but most plays will crossover to FanDuel as well

Explosive Play | Lamar Jackson (BAL) $6,700 vs. ARI

Jackson surprised a lot of people last week with his five TD passes, and while I don’t expect a repeat of that, the Cardinals pass defense without Patrick Peterson is not good. I know it’s early in the season, but they rank 23rd DVOA after one week. I’d expect him to run a little more in this game as well.

Deep Threat | Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) $5,800 vs. SEA

Big Ben and company were embarrassed Sunday night by the Patriots, but I’ve said this many times before, Roethlisberger is a terrible road QB. This week, not only is he at home, but he gets a Seahawks team that has historically been a bad road team. Combined that with the secondary of the Seahawks not being what it used to, I think Big Ben is in for a great game.

Hail Mary | Derek Carr (OAK) $5,100 vs. KC

As my Armchair Fantasy Show co-host, Tim Strobel, likes to say, “It’s the Monday night effect.” What he means is, prices for DraftKings and FanDuel are typically put out before the Monday night game has kicked off, so any player that has a breakout game will be priced much lower since they couldn’t adjust his price. Most of the Raiders players fall into that category. Carr against this weak Chiefs defense should have no trouble hitting value as they will have to pass a ton to keep pace with Mahomes and company.

Missed Tackle | Russell Wilson (SEA) $6,200 @ PIT

Russell Wilson completed 14 passes last week. Granted, two of them were for TDs, that’s not a ratio I want to bet on week-in-and-week-out.

Others I like: Tom Brady $6,400, Josh Allen $5,300

Explosive Play | Ezekiel Elliott (DAL) $8,700 @ WAS

Elliott owns the Redskins over his career. His six TDs against the ‘Skins is double what he has career against any other team except the 49ers (4). He did struggle in his first game last year vs. them but exploded for 121 yards in the second game.

Deep Threat | Josh Jacobs (OAK) $4,700 vs KC

This will be a common theme in this week’s column, play your under-priced Raiders. Jacobs won’t get taken out the game if the Raiders get down, he is a great receiving back.

Hail Mary | Raheem Mostert (SF) $3,800 @ CIN

With Tevin Coleman out for this game, Matt Breida steps into the lead back role, but Mostert will get plenty of touches to make him viable. He actually outplayed both the starters last week and had a rushing TD called back on a penalty.

Missed Tackle | David Johnson (ARI) $7,100 @ BAL

Ravens defense is just too good to justify paying up for DJ this week.

Others I like: Alvin Kamara $8,200, Austin Ekeler $6,100, Todd Gurley $7,000

Wide Receivers

Explosive Play | Keenan Allen (LAC) $7,600 @ DET

No Mike Williams. No Hunter Henry. No Melvin Gordon. Allen is going to get a ton of targets vs. a Lions team bad against the pass. They were 31st in DVOA last season vs. the pass.

Deep Threat | Cooper Kupp (LAR) $6,000 vs NO

This game has the highest over/under on the slate, and we all remember how last year’s game went, with the Saints winning 45-to-35. Kupp is the cheapest option in the Rams wide receiver corps and the most likely to catch a TD.

Hail Mary | Tyrell Williams (OAK) $4,400 vs. KC

Play your Raiders.

Missed Tackle | Amari Cooper (OAK) $7,400 @ WAS

Cooper aggravated his foot in last week’s game and they say he is okay and will play, but from someone that has had Planter Facisia, a flare-up could linger. Too risky.

Others I like: Michael Thomas $8,000, Allen Robinson $6,100

Explosive Play | Evan Engram (NYG) $5,200 vs. BUF

Engram is the only passing option outside of Saquon Barkley that I will even consider. The Bills defense is very good, but they are better at the corners then they are over the middle. They gave up 14 receptions to Jamison Crowder last week over the middle, and Engram lives in the middle.

Deep Threat | Mark Andrews (BAL) $3,800 vs. ARI

I’ve already talked about how bad the Arizona defense is, and rookie T.J. Hockenson had over 100 yards vs. this team last week. Lamar Jackson and Andrews is another good stack this week.

Hail Mary | T.J. Hockenson (DET) $3,000 vs. LAC

Speaking of Hockenson, I don’t know how you break a record for a rookie TEs debut game and somehow your price goes down on DraftKings.

Missed Tackle | Jared Cook (NO) $4,700 @ LAR

Cook was barely targeted last week and until I see him get those targets, I will fade him.

Others I like: Vance McDonald $3,900, Darren Waller $3,300

Explosive Play | Ravens $3,800 vs. ARI

Two week’s in a row the Ravens are the top option. Kyler looked bad to three quarters last week, I expect him to look bad for four quarters this week.

Deep Threat | Texans $2,800 vs. JAX

Texans are at home vs. a sixth-round rookie QB making his first start. Yes, please.

Hail Mary | Steelers $2,400 vs. SEA

Steelers are a much better team at home and their offense is their best defense sometimes. The Steelers will put up points and take the Seahawks out of their run-first offense. Wilson is a great QB and can handle himself in a shoot-out, but it’s PFF’s worst-ranked offense line that concerns me.

Missed Tackle | Chiefs $3,500 @ OAK

Chiefs defense just gave up 350 yards passing to a combo of Nick Foles and Gardner Minshew last week. For all the “underpriced” Raiders this week, the Chiefs are overpriced as they were expected to be bad.

Others I like: Bills $3,400, 49ers $2,800
