Draftkings and Fanduel MLB Lineup Advice 6/20/15 by RotoTrick

Top Pitching Options

Max Scherzer (DK – $12600, FD – $11900) – On the early slate, Scherzer is easily the top option as he’s been on fire this year. Mad Max has put up a 2.48 SIERA, 0.88 WHIP, and 30.9% strikeout rate on the year, all phenomenal numbers. He’s also in a decent spot against a Pittsburg team that is average against righties, with a 95 wRC+ (19th), 0.306 wOBA (20th), and 19.7% strikeout rate (16th). Scherzer will have the platoon advantage against the Pirates top hitters and is a -140 favorite with a low total of only 6.5, making him the top pitching option during the day.

Corey Kluber (DK – $10400, FD – $11000) – Kluber gets the nod for the top pitching option on the evening slate as he’s in a great spot against the Rays. Tampa has been below average against RHP this year with a 95 wRC+ (17th), 0.299 wOBA (22nd), and 21.0% strikeout rate (24th). Kluber hasn’t quite put up Scherzer number this year, but he’s been close with a 2.64 SIERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 28.3% strikeout rate. He’s also tied for the biggest favorite on the day at -190, making him an easy slot into your lineups in the night slate.

John Lackey (DK – $7900, FD – $8900) – Who’s the pitcher tied with Kluber for the biggest favorite at -190? You guessed it, John Lackey against Philadelphia. While the Phillies are just below average against LHP, they are atrocious against RHP. The Phillies sport a meager 0.272 wOBA (30th), 69 wRC+ (30th), and 19.4% strikeout rate (10th) against righties, so they are always an easy target for value. Lackey comes in at a very reasonable $7900 on DK and has decent numbers on the year. He has a 3.95 SIERA and 1.23 WHIP, along with an 18% strikeout rate. He has had a few poor outings on the year, one of which was against the Phillies, but the others were against some of the top offenses in baseball (Coors, KC, CLE. WSH). I expect Lackey to easily meet value in this one.

Top Hitting Options

Joey Votto (DK – $4800, FD – $4000) – Votto is one of the best LHH in baseball and is in a nice spot against Tom Koehler and the Marlins. Koehler allows a 0.357 wOBA and 10 HRs to LHH on the year to go along with his 4.46 SIERA. Votto crushes righties for a 0421 wOBA and 0.294 ISO. I always looks for a 1B option below $5K on Draftkings in a great spot and Votto fits the bill tonight.

Charlie Blackmon (DK – $4400, FD – $3900) – Blackmon was one of my favorite play yesterday and he came through with a triple, a double, an RBI, and a walk for 22 Draftkings points. Although the Rockies don’t get a rookie pitcher, they still get a great matchup against Kyle Lohse. Lohse has struggled this year with a 4.14 SIERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 1.81 HR/9 and those numbers will only get worse at Coors. Blackmon has the platoon advantage against him and has produced a 0.373 wOBA and 122 wRC+ vs. RHP this year and should be in line for another strong day at a bargain price for his upside.

Top Value Play

Darrell Ceciliani (DK – $2000, FD – $2200) – Ceciliani makes a great punt play in the outfield when he cracks the lineup for the Mets. He’ll have the platoon advantage against Williams Perez, who has an uninspiring 4.28 SIERA, 1.4 WHIP, and 4.35 BB/9 on the year. DC has a 0.446 wOBA and 0.200 ISO over the last two weeks and if he gets back into the lineup hitting 6th again offers great value.
