Fanduel MLB Lineup Advice 5/4

May the Fourth be with you! We kept the streak alive on Sunday, with a monster day from Stephen Vogt and a solid stack of the Tampa Bay Rays. Let’s get to six straight on Monday, and see what players can get us there!

Pitchers

Clayton Kershaw, LAD – $11,300

Building a lineup around Clayton Kershaw is one of the most difficult yet rewarding tasks that DFS players face. Some Brewers hitters have some pretty good numbers against him (Braun, Gomez, and Gerardo Parra are all hitting above .333 against Kersh) in their careers, but that shouldn’t scare you away from starting the best pitcher in baseball. The Milwaukee lineup is still decimated by injuries, and the Dodgers lefty will get to feast on names like Martin Maldonado and Elian Herrera. Look for a ton of strikeouts, a win, and a deep outing from Kershaw on Monday evening.

Clay Buchholz, BOS – $7,900

Related Articles

If you’re looking to squeeze an expensive lineup stack into your strategy on Monday, give Clay Buchholz of the Boston Red Sox a look going up against a right-handed dominant lineup in Tampa Bay. Yes, the Red Sox ace has been abysmal to start the season (1-3 record, 5.76 ERA), but he has some good success against some prominent Rays hitters in his career. In his only other start against his division foe Rays this season he was excellent, going 6 innings allowing only one run with TEN strikeouts. That bodes well for Buchholz’s prospects on Monday, and if you’re looking to fade all of the aces Clay may be your guy to start.

Other Options: Dallas Keuchel (HOU), Alex Wood (ATL), Chase Whitley (NYY)

Hitters

Evan Gattis, C, HOU – $3,400

The former Atlanta Brave is insanely hot at the plate right now, with 4 HR in his last three games. Gattis’ production won’t stop on Monday either, with a supreme matchup against no-name lefty Ross Detwiler. The Houston Astros are the hottest team in baseball right now, and their backstop has a large part to do with that recent success. Look for another offensive explosion from the AL West leaders on Monday evening, and expect Evan Gattis to get his fair share of juicy stats.

Chris Owings, SS, ARI – $2,800

If you’re looking to save some money on your bats because of your inclusion of an ace in your lineup, Chris Owings is a great cheap bet at shortstop Monday against the Rockies. I’m not going to do a whole lot of analysis here, Owings wins the platoon matchup over lefty Tyler Matzek and is playing in the heavenly Coors Field. Gotta love this situation, especially since Owings brings a rare combination of speed and power potential to the plate.
