Fantasy Basketball: Add’em or Drop’em for 1/29/16

Alright, GF2 fans, it’s time once again for my weekly Add’em or Drop’em NBA players for fantasy basketball! Like I always say, a good fantasy owner knows that working the waiver wire is the biggest key to success. There’s nothing like finding a nugget on waivers that could eventually lead you to season long glory! From Avery Bradley to Marcus Morris, there are players about there who you should decide on whether or not to add or drop. Luckily I’m here to help you guys, so take some notes.

Here’s my fantasy basketball Add’em or Drop’em players for the week:

Avery Bradley, Celtics SG

Bradley is owned in 69.8 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. I’ve been a huge supporter of Bradley all season long! On any given night the guy can explode and put in a great game for the Celtics. On Wednesday night, Bradley poured in 27 points for Boston and cemented his place on my fantasy rosters. This season, he has averaged 15.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 32.6 minutes per contest. Bradley can also be deadly from three-point land, averaging 2.0 three-point shots made per game this year. There are going to be some down nights for this guy, but I’m a firm believer that he will be a solid go-to option for your squad.

Verdict: Add’em

Marcus Morris, Pistons PFFantasy Basketball Add'em or Drop'em

Morris is owned in 74.4 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. I’ve tried to stay true to Morris all season long, but I’ve officially grown tired of his inconsistency as of late. So far this year, he has averaged 13.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 36.4 minutes per game. I typically love to own players that see a ton of minutes, but Morris just isn’t doing enough with his time on the court for me. Over his last four games, he’s actually had two nights where he only scored his owners a measly four fantasy points.

Verdict: Drop’em

Elfrid Payton, Magic PG

Payton is owned in 73.0 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. Payton was bitten by the injury bug for a bit, making him droppable in a lot of fantasy leagues, but he’s officially back and is looking good. This season, he has averaged 11.2 points, 5.9 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 29.6 mounts per game. He’s all over the court for Orlando and has quickly gained my trust to start him on a nightly basis. In two of his last four games, he’s recorded a double-double, which is always a luxury from one of your point guards.

Verdict: Add’em

Fantasy Basketball Add'em or Drop'emAmir Johnson, Celtics C

Johnson is owned in 34.5 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. For a brief period, Johnson gave fantasy owners a glimmer of hope that he could be a consistent option at center, but he quickly went back to his old, inconsistent ways. For the season, he has averaged 8.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 23.9 minutes per game. His inconsistent play can be attributed to his lack of time on the court, sharing time with players such as Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk, who I actually like more than Johnson.

Verdict: Drop’em

Archie Goodwin, Suns SG

Goodwin is owned in 34.5 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. Goodwin has taken the world by storm over the last week with his dazzling play in Phoenix! Over his last four games, he’s averaged a stellar 20.5 points and will continue to see plenty of minutes due to the massive amount of injuries within the Suns’ organization. With Eric Bledsoe done for the season and Brandon Knight dealing with a groin injury, Goodwin will continue to be a solid option for your season long leagues.

Verdict: Add’em
