Fantasy Football: Inside The Trenches, IDP Week 2 Update
In week one we saw some guys expected to do well falter and we saw guys we didn’t expect much from have big games. The week was headlined by a couple of injuries, to the likes of, Luke Kuechly and Antonio Cromartie. We are now left trying to figure out, if the men replacing them are worth rostering.
First, we will address the Antonio Cromartie injury. He is currently listed as week to week. I’m not expecting him to be in the lineup the next week or two, but, from the looks of things, the Cro will fly again before 2015 ends. Who is going to replace him is the question. Usually the man opposite of Derelle Revis gets a lot of action.

Buster Skrine-CB
Buster Skrine will be stepping in as the man across from Revis. You can expect teams to look his way early and often, but, have no fear, Skrine is used to being peppered with targets, from his days with the Browns, where he played across from Joe Hayden.
He is a good tackler, so I would expect he keeps most plays in front of him and comes away with decent fantasy production, from his tackles alone. Of course, when you’re talking about Buster Skrine there is always a chance at an interception
He has a legitimate opportunity, to come out of week 2, with double-digit fantasy points. So if you looking for an extra push on your IDP unit this week, plug him into your line ups.
The Carolina Panthers and their fans, watched in horror, as Luke Kuechly was helped off the field. Without a doubt, this is a significant blow to IDP rosters everywhere.
You never know how much time a player is going to miss with a concussion. I’m expecting, at a minimum, you won’t have his services this week. So once again, we are left asking the question, who will replace him and is he good enough to plug into our lineups.
A.J. Klein-ILB
He will be stepping into some pretty big shoes and while he is recognized as the replacement for Luke Kuechly, you can be sure he will get some help from other LBs.
He has a desire to be great and he is a game tape junky, so you can bet he will be prepared to fill the role. But physically, can he? He isn’t a going to compile a ton of tackles, he is more known, as a better pass defender, than a run defender.
He does feature big play ability, evident when he tied the NCAA record for INTs returned for TDs (4).
If you’re not comfortable with him in your line up, I can’t blame you. Therefore, I have one suggestion on an impact player for this week. He might be just what you’re looking for.

Mario Addison-DL
He also comes from the Carolina Panthers and has a chance to make an impact in your fantasy lineup, this week. With Kuechly out, it will fall on him to keep the running game in check. I’m expecting a double-digit tackle game from him this week, possibly a sack as well.
