Fantasy Football: Waiver Wire Adds Week 10
Alright, GF2 fans, it’s time to take a look at some great waiver options for the upcoming week. Week 10 is quickly approaching and there are still surprisingly, some viable options out there. From a veteran like Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo to a rookie wideout in Dorial Green-Beckham, there are players out there who have potential going forward. I’m going to give you all a brief rundown of some of these players who you should be able to pick up in some of your fantasy leagues.
So, here’s my Week 10 waiver wire adds:
Quarterbacks
Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
Even though the Cowboys hold a dreadful 2-6 record for the 2015 season, they still sadly are in the playoff race. Romo has already thrown a bit in practice and is eligible to return to game action for Dallas’ Week 11 contest versus Miami. Before breaking his collarbone, he had thrown for 551 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in just two starts. We all know that Romo can easily be a top-10 caliber quarterback for fantasy, so he’s worth an add. Also, during your potential fantasy playoff run he’ll get to face off against defenses such as the Redskins and Bills.
Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars
Bortles is actually a guy I’m looking to grab this week for a few of my leagues. He’s owned in just 55 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues and ranks in the top-8 among quarterbacks this season. Bortles has thrown for 2,193 yards, 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. His numbers aren’t staggering, but they are suitable for at least a bye week filler at worst. He also has two solid weapons running routes for him with Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns, so scoop him up while you can!
Running Backs
James Starks, Green Bay Packers
Starks is one of those players that people have been stashing on their benches on and off all season long. Now is finally the time that I’m mentioning him in any of my articles as a viable waiver option. It looks as if stud running back Eddie Lacy will never get healthy this season and Starks honestly looks like the better back. In 2015, he has rushed 78 times for 334 yards and a score. Starks is also involved in the Packers passing game, catching 19 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns this year. Not only has Lacy been dealing with an ankle injury, but now he also has an ailing groin. Starks could see an even larger involvement within this dynamic offense going forward.
Karlos Williams, Buffalo Bills
Many of you probably already have grabbed Williams off of the waiver wire at least once this season, but like all of the Bills’ running backs he got injured and many people dropped him. In Week 9, LeSean McCoy hurt his shoulder and didn’t participate in practice on Monday, giving a potential starting nod to Williams on this short week. The problem with Williams for Week 10 is that they will face off against the Jets, who have a formidable defense. This season, Williams has rushed 57 times for 336 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 67.2 yards per contest. He may not put up huge numbers this week, but if McCoy remains out long-term, then Williams will have great value going forward.
Wide Receivers
Dorial Green-Beckham, Tennessee Titans
I had high hopes for Green-Beckham coming into the 2015 fantasy season, but he has underperformed since day 1. This season, he has caught just 12 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns. Most of his stats came in a breakout Week 9 performance, though, where he caught five passes for 77 yards off of nine total targets. Marcus Mariota is back from his MCL sprain and seems to be looking Green-Beckham’s way more often. Also, number one wideout Kendall Wright is nursing an injury, making Green-Beckham the potential Number 2 receiver in this young Titans offense.

Devin Funchess, Carolina Panthers
Like Green-Beckham, Funchess is a rookie wide receiver who everyone had high hopes for coming into 2015. A nagging injury has really held him back all year long, but he finally looked somewhat healthy in Week 9. This last week, Funchess caught three passes for 71 yards and a score. Panthers’ quarterback Cam Newton is playing at an MVP level this season and really needs to get Funchess in the mix more often. So, as a deep sleeper pickup going forward, Funchess could be your guy!
Tight Ends
Garrett Celek, San Francisco 49ers
At this time of the season, it’s slim pickings when it comes to the tight end position. Even though the 49ers aren’t playing that great as a team, Celek could very well be an ultra-deep sleeper pick for the rest of the season. San Francisco’s team has undergone a massive change among their offensive players and Celek actually benefitted from it in Week 9. He caught both of his targets for 12 yards and two touchdowns. With Vernon Davis long gone, he will have all the opportunities in the world to produce for the 49ers. Also, Blaine Gabbert is now the starting quarterback and isn’t very experienced, so he’ll need to use Celek as sort of a safety blanket.
I hope some of these waiver adds help some of you along your way to fantasy glory! Thanks for reading!
