Fantasy Football: Week 10 Buy Low, Sell High

Alright, GF2 fans, it’s time for my weekly Buy Low, Sell High players for Week 10! Overall, Week 9 was a crazy one, from Blaine Gabbert leading the 49ers to victory to Antonio Brown’s insanely productive day. Like I’ve said before, the fantasy playoffs are drawing near and it’s time to get those last few pieces on or off of your rosters. The running back position grows more scarce by the week, so a guy like LeGarrette Blount can truly be valuable going forward.

So, here’s my Week 10 Buy Low, Sell High players:

BUY LOW

LeGarrette Blount, Patriots RB

I’m probably the farthest thing from a Patriots fan, but I call it how I see it. Dion Lewis’ knee injury looked to be potentially serious, so Blount gets an instant increase in fantasy value if he misses time going forward. This season, he has rushed 98 times for 447 yards and five touchdowns. The Patriots have recently been known for their balanced offensive style and Blount fits right into that scheme. He was already getting a lot of the goal line carries, but now he will be the featured back in the most prolific offense that the NFL has to offer. Buy low now while you can because he won’t be cheap for much longer.

Latavius Murray, Raiders RB

Like I said above, finding a good running back is tough these days in the NFL. If you’re one of those owners who have lost an Arian Foster type of player, then you need to look to trade for a guy such as Murray. In 2015, he has rushed 132 times for 630 yards and three scores. I know what you all are thinking, though, didn’t Murray suffer a concussion in Week 9? Yes, but if he does miss time it’s typically only for one game and he may not even miss that many. I own Murray in a lot of my season long leagues for a reason and that’s because he truly is the featured back on an up and coming Raiders offense. Throw a low ball offer out this week to a Murray owner in your league.

Jordan Reed, Redskins TE

Reed could easily be a top-5 caliber fantasy tight end if only he could string together a few healthy weeks in a row. So far this season, he has caught 38 passes for 368 yards and four touchdowns. Reed is a freak athlete and is one of the few receivers on this Washington squad that quarterback Kirk Cousins is looking for every single play. He has a remotely easy fantasy playoff schedule, facing off against teams such as the Bears and Bills, making him even more valuable to us all. I’m not saying to offer your first-born child for Reed, but look for someone who is buying into the Vernon Davis hype.

SELL HIGH

Antonio Brown, Steelers WR

Why is the best wide receiver in the NFL on the sell high list? Well, Brown is obviously only beneficial to your fantasy team if his quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is on the football field. Big Ben just can’t catch a break this season and looks to possibly be sidelined going forward once again with a foot injury. In 2015, Brown has caught 69 receptions for 1,002 yards and three scores. You could easily take advantage of the big Week 9 that Brown had and trade him for optimum value. In Week 9, he caught 17 passes for an amazing 284 yards! You could honestly get your hands on any player you wanted via trade after Brown’s performance this last week, so get to work people!

Allen Hurns, Jaguars WR

Hurns has easily been one of this season’s most surprising breakout fantasy players. In 2015, he has caught 36 balls for 635 yards and six touchdowns. This Jaguars offense has been surprisingly good all season long and doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. Here’s the deal with Hurns, he has great value going forward with a super easy fantasy playoffs schedule, but can he keep up this great pace? I for one don’t want to wait and find out, so I’m selling him high. I would use this weak playoff schedule against teams such as the Colts and Saints as my top selling point.

Sammy Watkins, Bills WR

If you were ever going to sell Watkins high or even at all, the time is now! This season, he has caught just 19 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns. In Week 9, he absolutely blew it up for his fantasy owners to the tune of 8 catches for 168 yards and a score. Do any of you actually think that he’ll match this performance again this season or ever? I don’t, so I’m looking for a gullible fellow owner or a Bills fan to pawn Watkins off on. You may not get a whole lot from a Watkins trade, but almost anything would be better going forward.
