Fantasy Football Week 10 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense

Before revealing my top options for Week 10, let’s look back at my Week 9 fantasy football quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers. (Yahoo! PPR scoring)

Quarterback: Alex Smith-17.44 points
Tight End: Vance McDonald-5.5 points
Team Defense: Kansas City Chiefs-6 points

The Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens are on a bye this week. Now, here are my Week 10 quarterback, tight end and team defense fantasy football streamers.

Quarterback: Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns vs. Atlanta Falcons

The removal of Hue Jackson and Todd Haley seemed to help Mayfield, as he finally fully exploited an easy matchup with 297 yards and two touchdowns (with an interception) against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9. He has multiple passing touchdowns and a completion rate north of 60 percent in three straight games, and he’s lined to make it four in row with those benchmarks in Week 10.

The Atlanta Falcons have allowed just one passing touchdown in each of their last two games, but they’ve still allowed over 300 yards through the air in three straight games (and in six of their last seven) while surrendering the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season (ESPN scoring).

The Falcons’ offense forces opposing offenses into passing mode, and an opposing quarterback has thrown the ball at least 38 times in six of their last seven games (40 or more five times). Mayfield is next up, and my top streaming quarterback for Week 10.

Others To Consider: Alex Smith, Washington Redskins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Washington Redskins; Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday night); Josh Rosen, Arizona Cardinals at Kansas City Chiefs; Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans vs. New England Patriots; Eli Manning, New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers (Monday night); Nick Mullens, San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants

Tight End: Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Doyle returned from a hip injury in Week 8, and led Colts’ tight ends in snaps on his way to finishing with six receptions (on seven targets) for 70 yards and a touchdown. Eric Ebron is still around, but Doyle stepped right back into a prominent role.

At first glance Week 10 is not a great matchup for Doyle, as the Jacksonville Jaguars are in the top-10 of the league against tight ends (ESPN PPR scoring). But the haven’t faced a great slate at the position, and when they have faced a top-tier option lately (Travis Kelce, Zach Ertz) a decent fantasy day has followed.

Doyle is not quite on Kelce and Ertz’s level. But he is in line to be a TE1 down the stretch of the fantasy season, and at least for Week 10 (coming off a bye) he qualifies as a streaming option.

Others To Consider: Ben Watson, New Orleans Saints at Cincinnati Bengals; Vance McDonald, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Carolina Panthers (Thursday night); Chris Herndon, New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills

Team Defense: Los Angeles Chargers at Oakland Raiders

The Chargers have held each of their last four opponents to less than 20 points, with multiple sacks in each game (three or more three times). Over their last seven games, they’ve had multiple takeaways or a defensive touchdown six times. Now a particularly good matchup is on the slate for Week 10.

The Oakland Raiders have scored three points in two of their last three games, with 14 sacks allowed in those contests and they’ve allowed at least three sacks in five of their last six games. Injuries (Marshawn Lynch), a trade (Amari Cooper) and a bad offensive line have combined to render their offense feeble.

Back in Week 5, the Chargers held the Raiders to 10 points (289 yards of offense) with three sacks and two takeaways. Those three marks feel like the floor for this week, and even with the potential of points allowed in garbage time it’s likely to be offset by a bounty of sacks and takeaways. With a high floor, unrivaled upside, and ownership rates that haven’t caught to what their doing (factoring in a Week 8 bye too), the Chargers are easily the top streaming defense for Week 10.
