Fantasy Football Week 2 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense
Before unveiling Week 2’s streamers, let’s review Week 1’s results (Yahoo! half-PPR scoring).
Quarterback: Tyrod Taylor-9.02 points
Tight End: Dallas Goedert-20.10 points
Team Defense: Philadelphia Eagles-3 points
Now, here are Week 2’s quarterback, tight end and team defense fantasy streamers.
Quarterback: Philip Rivers, Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings
It was good, bad and occasionally ugly for Rivers in his Colts debut, as he went 36-for-45 for 363 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Interceptions seem sure to keep diminishing his fantasy output, but his Week 2 matchup is impossible to ignore.
The Minnesota Vikings replaced their top three cornerbacks from 2019 with inexperience, and it showed in Week 1. Aaron Rodgers did whatever he wanted, as a pass rush that was without Danielle Hunter hardly touched him, on his way to 364 yards and four touchdown passes. Hunter will be out again in Week 2, and the Colts’ offensive line is a little better than Green Bay’s.
Rivers won’t make plays on the move the way Rodgers still can at times. But operating strictly from the pocket, he should have plenty of time to pick apart Minnesota’s young corners. Even allowing for a head-scratching throw or two, Rivers is lined up as a QB1 for Week 2. He gets the nod as my No. 1 quarterback streamer for the week.

Others To Consider: Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers at New York Jets; Tyrod Taylor, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs; Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars; Teddy Bridgewater, Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders vs. New Orleans Saints (Monday Night); Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams at Philadelphia Eagles (check ownership); Mitchell Trubisky, Chicago Bears vs. New York Giants; Gardner Minshew, Jacksonvillle Jaguars at Tennessee Titans; Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns (Thursday night, check ownership)
Tight End: Logan Thomas, Washington Football Team at Arizona Cardinals
Thomas garnered attention during camp, and the idea he’d be Washington’s No. 1 tight end was proven out in Week 1. He finished with four catches for 37 yards and a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles, on a team-high eight targets (25.8 percent target share).
The Arizona Cardinals allowed the most fantasy points to tight ends last year by a good margin. Week 1 wasn’t as profitable for the 49ers tight ends, as George Kittle (four catches for 44 yards) was banged up in the game. But Thomas clearly has a prominent role, and Washington might have to air it out more than they did in Week 1. Prominent role, good matchup, it doesn’t have to be hard.
Thomas is really no worse than the No. 2 or No. 3 option in Washington’s passing game. He’ll be in the streamer conversation as long as he qualifies, and coming from where his ownership rates are right now he’ll be somewhere in this weekly piece for awhile. Fire him up against the Cardinals in Week 2 with confidence.

Others To Consider: Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Los Angeles Rams (check ownership); Jordan Akins, Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens; Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings; O.J. Howard, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers; Chris Herndon, New York Jets vs. San Francisco 49ers
Team Defense: Arizona Cardinals vs. Washington
The Cardinals’ defense came to play against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1, allowing 20 points with three sacks of Jimmy Garoppolo. A takeaway or two would have been nice, but remove a 76-yard touchdown reception by running back Raheem Mostert and the 49ers would not have topped 300 yards of offense. A better matchup is coming for Arizona in Week 2.
Washington scored 27 points on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. But Dwayne Haskins was sacked three times, and he completed less than 55 percent of his passes (17-for-31). The ground game also averaged just 2.2 yards per carry in the game, and they had 239 yards of offense.
Shutting down everyone on the field might be a tough bargain, but the Cardinals should have no trouble with the Washington offense as a whole. A few sacks and a couple takeaways with less than 20 points allowed is a solid expectation.
