Fantasy Football: Week 6 Buy Low, Sell High

Alright, it’s time once again for my GF2 buy low, sell high candidates for the week! Week 5 is officially over, from DeAndre Hopkins’ big TNF game to another breakout performance by Allen Hurns on Sunday, it was a great week! Some of us have playoff hopes and others are already throwing in the towel for this fantasy season. If your league is anything like mine, then in six short weeks it’ll be playoff time. It’s time to start looking ahead, seeing what matchups are out there and find guys to anchor your team the rest of the way.

So, here we go fantasy fans, it’s time for my buy low, sell high options for Week 6:

BUY LOW

Eddie Lacy, RB Packers

Calm down Packers fans, he’s going to be just fine! I know it’s tough holding on to an elite running back who just isn’t producing great fantasy numbers, but he is an exception. This season, Lacy has rushed the ball 63 times for 257 yards and one touchdown. He’s also caught just seven passes for 66 yards and no scores. So, why am I telling you all to “buy low” on Lacy? Well, first of all, he has proven over the last few years that he’s a slow starter to the season and also the weather will soon be cold across the nation. Lacy thrives in the cold weather environment and will begin to put up his stellar numbers once again. If you can pry Lacy from other owner’s hands, do it in Week 6 where he gets to feast on the dreadful Chargers defense.

Peyton Manning, QB Broncos

Yes, Manning lost a bit of his luster over the last few seasons, but he still could be the anchor for your team late in the fantasy season. In 2015, he has thrown for 1,234 yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions. Let’s look ahead to fantasy playoff time, Manning gets to play teams such as the Chargers and Steelers, who aren’t stellar at all on the defensive side of the ball. Also, he has a duo of great receivers in Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, who are just salivating to get you all the fantasy points you can handle. Offer a scared Manning owner a trade they can’t refuse and hope for the best in Denver.

Calvin Johnson, WR Lions

I have been riding this mind numbing roller coaster ride with Megatron all season long, so it’s hard for me to even to put him on this list. But the guy has proven year after year that he is the best player in Detroit and will continue to be just that in 2015. So far, Johnson has caught 32 balls for 322 yards and one touchdown. Right now, Matthew Stafford is struggling at quarterback for the Lions, let’s just hope he figures things out. Johnson is a massive red zone target and should see many more opportunities for touchdowns this season.

SELL HIGH

Thomas Rawls, RB Seahawks

Rawls has been a bruiser running back over the last few weeks and has flourished in the Seattle offense. This season, he has rushed 58 times for 326 yards and a score. Is Rawls a mirage or is he the real deal for the Seahawks? Only time will tell and I for one won’t be the guy that is holding on to him. With Marshawn Lynch most likely going to be back in the coming weeks, now is the best time to sell high on Rawls. Get a Rawls/Andy Dalton type of package together and trade them for my buy low guy Eddie Lacy!

Allen Hurns, WR Jaguars

Hurns isn’t even the best Allen in Jacksonville, that title belongs to Allen Robinson. Come season’s end, Robinson will be the better player overall for the Jaguars, so take advantage of this fantasy outburst from Hurns while you still can. This season, he has caught 27 balls for 430 yards and three touchdowns. Don’t get me wrong, I do like Hurns as a DFS play with a good matchup, but for a season long league he just isn’t my guy. The next two weeks he draws both the Texans and Bills, who have stout defenses, trade him now before it’s too late.

Gary Barnidge, TE Browns

Where in the world did Barnidge come from? He’s only been in the league eight long seasons now and has done nothing remotely close to what he has this season. In 2015, Barnidge has caught 24 passes for 374 yards and three touchdowns. He already has more reception yards in 2015 then he’s had in any complete season before. If you’re on the Barnidge hype train, you may just get off at the next station. His next three opponents just so happen to be the Broncos, Rams and Cardinals who all can shut him down fairly easily.
