Fantasy Football Week 7 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense

As usual, before I unveil my Week 7 fantasy football streamers, let’s review Week 6. (Yahoo! 0.5-point PPR scoring; four points per passing touchdown)

Quarterback: Kirk Cousins-28.32 points
Tight End: Gerald Everett-1.9 points
Team Defense: Dallas Cowboys-4 points

With four teams on a bye (Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers), here are my quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers for Week 7.

Quarterback: Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills vs. Miami Dolphins

Allen was cleared from a concussion without missing a game in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. He threw for 219 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, while adding 27 yards on 10 carries (18.49 fantasy points; Yahoo! scoring). Coming off a Week 6 bye, a favorable stretch of schedule for Allen starts with the easiest of layups.

Even after holding Case Keenum relatively in check in Week 6, the Miami Dolphins are still allowing the most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. All five signal callers they’ve faced have thrown multiple passing touchdowns against them, and Keenum is the only one who hasn’t thrown for at least 246 yards or topped 20 fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring).

Allen of course adds to his bottom line with his legs. But strictly on passing numbers alone, he’s set to finish in the top-10 of fantasy quarterbacks this week.

Others To Consider: Daniel Jones, New York Giants vs. Arizona Cardinals; Sam Darnold, New York Jets vs. New England Patriots (Monday night); Jacoby Brissett, Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans; Gardner Minshew, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals; Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions; Joe Flacco, Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs (Thursday night)

Tight End: Hunter Henry, Los Angeles Chargers at Tennessee Titans

Henry returned from a knee injury in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and concern over a limited snap count in his first game back was dismissed as he finished with eight receptions for an even 100 yards and two touchdowns. He’s locked in as a TE1 now, but his ownership rates qualify him as a streamer this week.

In Week 7 Henry gets the Tennessee Titans, who haven’t allowed a lot of volume to tight ends. But they have allowed four touchdowns to the position, including scores to such “stalwarts” as James O’Shaughnessy and Lee Smith, and double-digit PPR fantasy points to three guys (David Njoku, Eric Ebron, Austin Hooper) on their way allowing the ninth-most fantasy points to tight ends so far (0.5-point PPR; Yahoo! scoring)

Henry is obviously a matchup-proof tight end, but since he qualifies as a streamer he is the easy choice for Week 7.

Others To Consider: Darren Fells, Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts; Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Rams at Atlanta Falcons; Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday night); Dawson Knox, Buffalo Bills vs. Miami Dolphins

Team Defense: San Francisco 49ers at Washington Redskins

The 49ers shut down the Los Angeles Rams in Week 6, allowing just seven points while holding Jared Goff to 78 passing yards and sacking him four times. They’ve allowed just 10 points over their last two games combined, and they’ve allowed 20 points or less with multiple sacks in all five of their games this season. In Week 7, it’s about as good as it can get for San Francisco’s defense.

Opposing defenses has have averaged 10.3 fantasy points per game against the Washington Redskins this season (Yahoo! scoring), and if not for the Miami Dolphins posting just a single point with no sacks or takeways against them in Week 6 it would be higher and they’d still be among the five (or two or three, truly) most generous teams to opposing defenses.

The 49ers’ defense showed the world something against what is thought to be a potent Rams’ offense. For fantasy football purposes, in a thin week for streamers, this unit is a slam-dunk option for Week 7 available in at least one-third of leagues.
