Fantasy Football: Week 9 Buy Low, Sell High
It’s time once again GF2 fans for my favorite article I write every week! I love nothing more than giving you all Buy Low, Sell High candidates to help with your rosters. Week 8 is in the books and I find myself getting more excited each day for the fantasy playoffs. Almost every fantasy owner has a team that has one hole that needs to be filled. Maybe you have a great group of running backs, but lack that go-to receiver who can help win you games. I’m here to help you all get one step closer to fantasy glory, so get your notepads out!
So, here’s my Week 9 Buy Low, Sell High players:
BUY LOW
Ben Roethlisberger, QB Steelers
I was one of those guys who snatched Big Ben up off the waiver wire when my league mate dropped him following his MCL sprain. This season, Roethlisberger has thrown for 1,174 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions. He was welcomed back this week finally following his injury to a hungry Bengals defense. His comeback game was a rough one where he threw three interceptions and just one touchdown. Here’s the thing, though, Roethlisberger has some great matchups during the fantasy playoffs against teams such as the Colts and Ravens, so trade for him and stash him now! With weapons like Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant, he will have success for your fantasy squad.
Doug Martin, RB Buccaneers
Martin has been a pleasant surprise so far in 2015! This season, he has rushed 132 times for 612 yards and three scores. Martin has also caught 15 passes for 136 yards and a touchdown. This Tampa Bay team has silently found themselves with a 3-4 record, breathing new life into the franchise, so they’re going to continue to feed Martin the ball. In every game this season where Martin has seen at least 20 plus touches, he’s had a great fantasy outing. So, as long as the Buccaneers are willing to give this guy the ball, you should want to get him onto your team
Martavis Bryant, WR Steelers
Two Steelers make it on to the Buy Low portion of this article because they truly have an explosive offense! This season, Bryant has caught 13 balls for 231 yards and three touchdowns. Like I said above, Big Ben is back, giving all of Pittsburgh’s weapons a bump up in fantasy value. Bryant is a touchdown machine, especially when Roethlisberger is throwing him the ball, so he will have a fantasy impact this year. Also, with the favorable matchups for the fantasy playoffs, he will benefit from them as much as his quarterback will. You should easily be able to throw a low ball offer at Bryant owners this week and get him via trade
SELL HIGH
Drew Brees, QB Saints
Brees has had a rocky 2015 campaign so far, but he has been playing great football over the last few weeks, so we know what time it is! Sell him high while you can because this great, but aging quarterback may not have much more left in his fantasy tank. In 2015, Brees has thrown for 2,382 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. Out of all of these stats, though, a lot of them came in Week 8 versus the Giants. In Week 8, he threw for an incredible 511 yards and seven scores! Following this amazing game, I know one of your league mates who is hurting at quarterback will be begging you for Brees, pull the trigger, but don’t give him away for nothing.
Charcandrick West, RB Chiefs
When Chiefs’ star running back Jamaal Charles tore his ACL and was lost for the season, all hope was lost in the fantasy world, but then came West. In three starts this season, he has rushed 63 times for 288 yards and two scores. West has also caught nine passes for 59 yards as well, making him a dual-threat option at running back. Paired with his solid play to date and his weak upcoming fantasy playoff schedule, West is a prime candidate to sell high on. I would be much more comfortable owning a more reliable option such as a Chris Ivory or Doug Martin rather than West.

Ben Watson, TE Saints
Just like Brees, Watson has been playing out of his mind as of late. This year, he has caught 38 passes for 472 yards and three touchdowns. Watson has quickly become one of the favorite targets of his quarterback over the last few weeks, especially in the red zone. I know it’s hard to get rid of a solid tight end, but you more than likely picked him up off of waivers as a bye week spot start anyways. There are two things you can do with Watson, package him to get a big name player or get an even better tight end such as Jordan Reed. Either way you can’t go wrong because I don’t see him withstanding this brilliant run for much longer.
