Week 6 will kickoff Thursday night with the Atlanta Falcons visiting the New Orleans Saints. The Falcons come into this one absolutely on fire with a record of 5-0. The Saints on the other hand have been struggling to find themselves, with a record of 1-4.

Fantasy Football:TNF Week 6 Start/Sit

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have been crushing it all season long, cruising out to a 5-0 start. Matt Ryan is basically an every week start, that could change depending on the Julio Jones situation. Julio Jones is another every week start, but, he is banged up and there are questions on whether he will play on the short week. If he doesn’t play, Matt Ryan can still be started against the Saints terrible defense. Devonta Freeman is the hottest RB in the league and is an every week start until further notice

Start

Leonard Hankerson-WR

I know he didn’t post good numbers last week and was banged up, but, you have to try and take advantage of this matchup. He has been a go to target opposite of Julio Jones and has passed Roddy White on the depth chart.
If Julio Jones is inactive he will be the Falcons number 1 option in the passing game. He comes into this contest with 18/254/2, a solid start.

Jacob Tamme-TE

Usually he isn’t one of the guys featured in the game plan. If you start him you have to pray he catches a touchdown. On the season he has 16/198/0.

With Julio Jones banged up, there is a chance they will get him more involved than usual. Even if Julio plays, on a short week, they will be looking to get other passing options involved. They aren’t going to want to ask Julio Jones to do too much.

Sit

Roddy White-WR

Julio Jones banged up, Leonard Hankerson banged up, you would think they want to get Roddy involved in this one. I would usually agree, but, Roddy White hasn’t looked like has had a pulse all season long.

Roddy White has looked toasted pretty much all season long. He was passed on the depth chart by Leonard Hankerson. He only has 8/115/0 on the season. The curtain looks like it has come down on this long running act.

Tevin Coleman-RB

He is coming back from a rib injury, so they will be working him in a little bit more, each week. The bottom line is, as long as Devonta Freeman is playing at the level he is playing at, there isn’t a ton of room for Coleman in the gameplan.

New Orleans Saints

Coming into week 6, the Saints aren’t far from seeing the bag heads in their dome again. They have opened up the first 5 weeks at 1-4. The offense has basically come off the tracks. Some would tell you they never found the tracks. They don’t have a player that you can start week in and week out. The offense has not been stable enough.

Start

Drew Brees-QB

He hasn’t had a great start to the season. Far from what we have come to expect from Drew Brees. On the season he has 1,304 yards, Just 6 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

This game is going to be a shootout and Brees will be throwing the ball a bunch. The offense showed some promise last week. I’m expecting them to build on their recent success, this week, as he faces a bad Atlanta defense.

Brandin Cooks-WR

He has struggled to start the season. Part of his struggle has been the struggles of his QB, but, that’s just part of his problem. The other part, is that he isn’t built to be a number 1 WR. He doesn’t have the frame, nor, the skill set.
This isn’t a knock on Cooks skills, so please don’t think that. I love Brandin Cooks and would love to have him on my Bears, but, he is a slot WR and like most slot WRs, if you put your best corner on them, they have a way of going away.

However, in a game where there should be a lot of scoring, I would expect we are going to get a healthy dose of Brandin Cooks.

Willie Snead-WR

The Saints needed a WR to step up, Brandon Coleman, didn’t step up, leaving the door wide open for Willie Snead to walk in.

Snead has stepped up in a big way over the past 3 weeks. There is a noticeable difference, in how effective the Saints offense has been, since the emergence of Willie Snead.

He has posted 22/381/1, on the year. He seems to be developing into a solid WR1. So I say to you, I Feel The Need for Snead, start him.

C.J Spiller-RB

In a game where we should see a ton of throwing, I’m going to tell you to start the pass catching running back. He is going to be involved heavily, in the Saints offensive game plan.

I’m not saying the Saints are going to lean on Spiller all night long, but, he has a chance to grab 5 or 6 balls, and a touchdown.

Sit

Mark Ingram-RB

I’m avoiding Ingram in this game. The most underrated thing in fantasy football is game flow. This isn’t going to be a ground and pound defensive game, both of these offenses are going to look to spread the field and move the ball.

The Falcons should be able to march the ball, up and down the field on this poor Saints defense, all night long. It’s not going to be the type of game where the Saints can sit back and run the ball. They are going to have to let Brees, push the ball down the field.

Marques Colston-WR

Even if Colston plays you want to avoid him, much like Roddy White, when Colston is on the field, you get the feeling we are watching the end of his career. It was a good run, but, all good things come to an end. On the season, he has 18/200/0 and has looked old and slow, just to put that in perspective, in the last 3 games, Snead has caught, one less ball, than Colston has caught, all season long.
