**Updated** Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis 11/3/15
Update Two cash lineups posted at the bottom
Well, can’t win them all I guess. My cash lineup from yesterday is crashing and burning. I blame fanduel and their late release on prices. I normally do my research in the comfort of my office on my desktop with four or five tabs opened on my browser, instead I had to do it in my car during my lunch break on my iPhone. Not quite the same. We’ll put that one behind us and move on.
I think Fanduel must have known people were upset with the late release on prices because they put up today’s pricingĀ andĀ Wednesday’s pricing all at once. I hope that becomes a trend because it would be nice to get a head start on research. All right, let’s get to the full-blown advice column today, and be sure to check back at later today, I will update this column with my cash game lineup. [wysija_form id=”1″]For the new readers, here is my format:
Game Winner My Game Winner will be my top play for the position. I’ll be using a combination of the matchup, recent performances, history against the current opponent and my gut to make my choices for the top play.
Dunk A Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside and is someone who should give you the highest return on investment (ROI)
Half-Court Shot Otherwise known as a “punt play”. This player will be at, or near, minimum salary, but is someone I believe has a chance to greatly outperform the salary.
Pass A player deemed a Pass is someone who I’m doing just that. Passing on him. This is a top-tier player that I’ll be avoiding for various reasons. The matchup, price, recent performances, or just a gut feel are a few things I’ll take in an account.
So let’s get started…
NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis forĀ 11/3/15
Point GuardĀ
Game Winner Elfrid Payton, Magic $7000
Payton hasn’t been great thus far, but I think things are about to change. I called him a poor man’s Ricky Rubio last year because of his high floor. Like Rubio he doesn’t have to score to reach value, he fills up the box score with assists, stealsĀ and rebounds. So why do I think things are going to turn around? He gets to face the Pelicans that are the league’s worst team guarding the point guard position. In fact, they give up 16 more points to opposing PGs than the No. 2 team — the Lakers. Granted, they had to face Steph Curry twice, but still.

Dunk Jordan Clarkson, Lakers $6400
Another team that is bad against the point guard is the Denver Nuggets. Clarkson wasn’t good his last time out, but the Nuggets are the perfect medicine for him.
Half-Court Shot Tony Douglas, Pelicans $3900
The Pelicans have now twice signed a point guard mid-weekĀ and proceeded to start that point guard and play him big minutes after only a few days with the team. They did it in the first game of the season with Ish Smith and they did it the last game with Tony Douglas. Douglas seems legit after receiving more minutes and playing better overall than fellow point guard Ish Smith. The Magic are in the bottom third of the league in terms of defense vs position so it’s a good matchup.
Pass Derrick Rose, Bulls $7300
At $7300 Rose needs to get 36.5 fanduel points to reach value, but has yet to break 30 in any game this season. No thanks.
Shooting Guard
Game WinnerĀ Victor Oladipo, Magic $8100
In three games this year Oladipo has scored 36, 54, and 34 respectively. The 36 was against a good defensiveĀ front court in Washington and the 34 came against Jimmy Butler. The Pelicans will be guarding Oladipo with Eric Gordon, where do I sign up?
DunkĀ Eric Gordon, Pelicans $5200
This game has the second highest over/under on tonight’s slate, so there will be some points scored. Anthony Davis can’t score them all. Gordon will struggle defensively guarding either of the Magic guards, but will make up for it on the offensive end. At $5200 he needs 26 fanduel points to reach value and I think he gets there.
Half-Court ShotĀ Terrence Ross, Raptors $3800
He has two straight games over 21 minutes and has scored over 21 fanduel points in each. At $3800 he only needs 19 to reach value, and he gets a decent matchup with the Dallas Mavericks.
PassĀ Kobe Bryant, Lakers $7700
Kobe just hasn’t been able to do much other than hit a few threes not and again. His price tag is way too steep for his production.
Small Forward
Game Winner Nikola Mirotic, Bulls $6200
Small forward tonight is a wasteland. There isn’t much to choose from and that’s why my top play at the position is only $6200. Mirotic has been putting up decent numbers thus far, and should continue to do so tonight. If his price rises any further, I’ll be forced to pass on him, at $6200 he is just barely reaching value each night.
Dunk Marcus Morris, Pistons $5800
Morris has two games over 35 fanduel points this year with one game in the middle in which he only got 20. The 20 point effort was against the stout Jazz defense. The Pacers aren’t the same defense they were last year and at $5800 Morris only needs 29 to reach value.
Half-Court Shot NONE
As I said, SF is a wasteland tonight.
Pass Paul George, Pacers $8300
At $8300, George’s needs to get 41.5 to reach value but has only gone over 40 just once this season. Granted, his other two games were against pretty good defensive teams in the Grizzlies and the Jazz, but I’m just not ready to pay for him yet.
Power Forward
Game Winner Anthony Davis, Pelicans $10700
I’m going to ride the Anthony Davis train one more time. That 60 point game is coming and I don’t want to miss it. He had 73 fanduel points in one of their meetings with the Magic last year — I’m hoping he can do it again.
Dunk Kenneth Faried, Nuggets $6600
Faried has steadily gotten worse in each game this year, but the Lakers are just what the doctor ordered. The Lakers have a bunch of guys that like to jack up shots, including Mr. Jack Up a Shot himself in Kobe Bryant. They also have Nick Young and Lou Williams that have no conscience when putting up shots, which will lead to a ton of rebounding chances for the MANimal.
Half-Court Shot Dwight Powell, Mavericks $3700
Who? That’s what I said when I was looking at values for tonight. His minutes have increased in each game this season and he only needs 18.5 to reach value, a number he has missed only once when he had 17.6, missing by less than a point. Combined that with a plus matchup against the Raptors in Dallas and he will be my ticket to rostering Anthony Davis.
Pass Pau Gasol, Bulls $7800
Not trying to beat a dead horse here but until his price comes down I’m avoiding him.
Center
Game Winner Andre Drummond, Pistons $8900
He is the only center on tonight’s slate averaging over 40 fanduel points a night. The Pacers are the sixth worst team versus opposing centers so far this year, Drummond should have his way with them on his way to another 40-plus fanduel night.
Dunk Willie Cauley-Stein, Kings $5200
With DeMarcus Cousins out both Willie Cauley-Stein and the next guy on this list both stand to get a ton of minutes. Yes, it’s a tough matchup for sure but the volume alone will help them reach value.
Half-Court Shot Kosta Koufos, Kings $3800
See Willie Cauley-Stein
Pass Marc Gasol, Grizzlies $7700
I’m passing on both of the Gasol brothers tonight. Marc hasn’t been much better than his brother in Chicago. I’m looking elsewhere at center tonight.
There you have guys, my analysis for tonight’s slate. I’m still playing with a few lineup combinations, but as soon as I settle on one, I’ll update this column. Again, to receive it in you inbox enter your email below.
[wysija_form id=”1″]Ok, I couldn’t decide between these two cash lineups, so I’m going to post both of them. There is a ton of value today and I had a hard time settling on one.
