Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup and Advice 2/29/16

Happy Leap Year! Is that a thing? Who knows. Only thing google will tell me about Leap Year Day is that women are supposed to be “allowed” to propose to men. What does this have to do with DFS? Absolutely nothing…

Some of you have experienced some issues with viewing the articles over the last few days, I believe I’ve fixed it temporarily, so hopefully you will have no issues going forward.

Before we jump into tonight’s slate, I just wanted to encourage everyone to try one of our sponsors, NoHalftime. It’s an iOS app that allows you to bet real money on player vs player matchups. You can bet $5 that Lebron James will score more fantasy points than Stephen Curry for example. It’s super easy to use and fun to play. You can see more about it here, and if you sign-up using my Promo Code: G42 you will get a free $5 to play. Try it out, you have nothing to lose and you might win some real money.

Okay, tonight’s is right in my sweet spot of 5-7 games and there look to be some great matchups across the board, so let’s jump right in…

NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 2/29/16

Game Winner My Game Winner will be my top play for the position.

Dunk A Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.

Half-Court Shot Otherwise known as a “punt play”.

Pass A player deemed a Pass is someone I’m avoiding — or “passing” on.

Point Guard

Game Winner Russell Westbrook (OKC) @ SAC $11,000

nba fanduel lineup 2/29/16Do I really need to explain this one? It’s Westbrook against the defensively challenged Kings.

Dunk Mike Conley (MEM) @ DEN $7,000

Conley has been really solid over his last three games, including a 43 fantasy point effort in L.A. a few games ago. Tonight he gets a bad Nuggets team that also happens to play uptempo. His price tag has reached the point where his upside is now limited, but you can still expect a good 30-35 tonight.

Half-Court Shot Isaiah Canaan (PHI) @ WAS $3,500

First off, I admit that I did not watch his last game against the Magic, but looking at his box score he had 34 minutes! I know a few Sixers’ players sat this game out, so maybe that’s why he saw a huge uptick in minutes, but if he gets that amount again, he is definitely worth rostering at $3,500.

Pass Isaiah Thomas (BOS) vs UTA $7,900

I don’t think he will be a horrible play tonight, but with the Utah matchup and his price tag, I’ll be looking elsewhere.

Shooting Guard

Game Winner Khris Middleton (MIL) vs HOU $7,700

I had him as my Game Winner for Friday’s slate and he did not disappoint, scoring 40 fantasy points. On that same night, I had James Harden as my Pass play at $3,000 more. Harden ended up with 32. You’re welcome. Tonight they get to face off against each other and Harden will not have an answer for him. Middleton could outscore him again tonight.

Dunk Will Barton (DEN) vs MEM $6,000

nba fanduel lineup 2/29/16On Friday’s Press Coverage Podcast Dennis and I talked about certain tandems in the NBA that when one was out, you played the other one 100% of the time. The biggest example of this is Westbrook/Durant. Well, here is another one. Danilo Gallinari is out for three-to-four weeks, and we all know what happened last time he missed an extended period of time. He had games of 52, 38, 39, 44 and 46. In other words, fire up Barton until his price gets too high.

Half-Court Shot J.J. Redick (LAC) vs BKN $4,900

There isn’t a ton of value at shooting guard tonight, but Redick is the best of the group. His upside is limited, but he rarely puts up a clunker at his price. I like him slightly more over his backcourt teammate Jordan Crawford simply due to Redick averaging more minutes.

Pass James Harden (HOU) @ MIL $10,700

Okay, I don’t expect Harden to be bad, I just don’t think it’s necessary to pay his price tag tonight. He did have 50 against them earlier in the year, so I don’t hate him, I’m just spending my money elsewhere, like this next guy…

Small Forward

Game Winner LeBron James (CLE) vs IND $9,800

James missed the game in Washington due to “rest.” There is this funny phenomenon that seems to always happen when James misses a game for any reason. His first game back he goes H.A.M. Over the last two years James has had six instances where he played a “first game back” situation. Here are a few of his scores from those games; 54, 46, 60, 54, 57.5. Only one of those six times did he have a sub-par game and even then he had 39. Combined that with his 46 fantasy point average against the Pacers this year and you have my top play of the night. I’m putting my stamp on this one.

Dunk Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL) vs HOU $8,000

nba fanduel lineup 2/29/16I rarely put Mr. Alphabet in my columns, not because I think he is a bad player mind you, but more so because I hate trying to spell his name! All jokes aside, ABC gets a ton of minutes and is one of those rare players that can contribute literally in every category. Take his 69 fantasy point effort as an example. Sure the triple double was nice 27/12/10, but he also added four blocks and three steals! He had an off night against Detroit last time out, but he will bounce back nicely here.

Half-Court Shot Otto Porter (WAS) vs PHI $5,000

After the clunker against Chicago, Porter has put up two back-to-back solid performances. One of those games came against the same team he faces tonight and now he gets them in Washington. At $5,000 and 35-plus point upside against the lowly Ssixers, Porter makes for a great value play.

Pass NONE

Power Forward

Game Winner Derrick Favors (UTA) @ BOS $7,600

nba fanduel lineup 2/29/16Derrick Favors has become my “LaMarcus Aldridge from last season.” He is amazingly consistent, almost always low-owned because he isn’t flashy, and always seems to stay under-priced. The last time Favors played Boston he put up 48 fantasy points and Boston’s interior defense has not gotten any better since that game. His price won’t break the bank and he should easily be in the 38-45 fantasy point range.

Dunk Jabari Parker vs HOU $5,600

Parker is over his injury from last season and is starting to show why he was the No. 2 overall pick in 2014. Tonight he gets a Houston team that is dead last in defending the power forward position and pretty bad against center, which he plays as well. At $5,600, he is a steal.

Half-Court Shot Jerami Grant (PHI) @ WAS $4,600

This pick is based solely on Hollis Thompson‘s ability to play or not. If Thompson can’t go, then Grant will get enough of an uptick in minutes to make him roster-able. I wouldn’t be expecting the 37 he put up last night, but you’ll take 25.

Pass Kevin Love (CLE) vs IND $7,600

Love seemed to injure his leg in the Washington game, and even though he started the second half, I’d be worried about swelling. There is a chance that on a back-to-back set that the Cavs rest him, but either way, I’m going to avoid him. Sidenote, if he sits, fire up Tristan Thompson.

Center

Game Winner DeMarcus Cousins (SAC) vs OKC $10,900

nba fanduel lineup 2/29/16Convincing you to play Boogie is the same as convincing you to play Westbrook. If you need me to convince you, stop playing Fanduel and just start sending me your money cause you’re throwing it away anyway.

Dunk Rudy Gobert (UTA) @ BOS $6,900

I had him as my Dunk for Friday and boy did it pay off. He had 45 fantasy points despite only scoring 12 real life points. That’s the Gobert I know. He has 35 against Boston earlier this month and that is where I’m setting his over/under, right at 35. I’m taking the over.

Half-Court Shot Steven Adams (OKC) @ SAC $4,400

I don’t love this call, but in a high pace game like OKC/SAC, anyone getting 25-plus minutes has value. I’m paying up at center, though.
