Free NFL FanDuel Cash Lineup for Week 6, Sunday 10/16/16

Every week during the NFL season I’ll be publishing my cash game lineup for FanDuel and the rationale behind all my selections. Hopefully, we’ll use this line up to double our money in our cash lineups.

Again, this is my cash game lineup, and while I always put it in a few GPPs, there are other players at a couple of positions better suited for tournaments.

Note FanDuel has changed their Main contests from Sunday-Monday to Sunday only, to line up with DraftKings and their advertising claims of “one day fantasy.” Therefore I’ve changed as well. This lineup is for the FanDuel Main slate.

QB Tyrod Taylor ($7,800) I love targeting running QBs in cash games as the yards they gain on the ground help to assure a very safe floor. Chip Kelly’s 49ers offense plays at the fastest rate in the NFL, meaning Taylor should be on the field for a few more plays. Reports out of San Francisco say QB Colin Kaepernick has looked terrible in practice (more on this later) so Taylor could be working with some short fields.

RB Jordan Howard ($7,700) Howard has thrived as the lead back after Jeremy Langford went down to injury. He’s had 39 carries and 7 targets, accounting for 295 total yards and a TD in his last 2 games. He’ll face a Jaguars defense rated by Football Outsiders to be much tougher against the pass (7th) than the run (29th.) Howard is locked in as the lead back and should see a heavy workload against a very beatable Jacksonville defense.

RB Christine Michael ($7,400) Michael is in a similar position as Howard. He’s locked into a heavy workload due to injury, has made the most of his opportunity and faces a bad Atlanta run defense at home. Michael has scored 24. and 17.5 FanDuel points in his last two games, the 17.5 coming against a stout Jets run defense. He’ll get a break this week against a Falcons run defense ranked 24th. Seattle has been installed as a 6 point Vegas favorite, meaning gameflow should be in Michael’s favor.

WR Willie Snead ($7,000) We’ll want some exposure to this game, as it easily carries the highest O/U of the day at 53. Snead was well on his way towards a breakout season in the first 2 games, turning 17 targets into 14 catches for 226 yards and 2 TDs before injuring his toe. After the bye week, he’s says he’s at 95%, which is good enough for me. The Panthers, will still stout defensively against the run, have fallen on hard times trying to contain the pass. They are ranked 22nd in that category and given the Saints defensive struggles, this game could easily turn into a shootout.

WR Will Fuller ($6,900) The Houston Texans have two outstanding WRs, rookie Fuller and DeAndre Hopkins, while the Colts have one good CB, Vontae Davis, who should cover the veteran, Hopkins. After a dud against a tough Vikings defense, this is a perfect bounce back game against a Colts defense ranked 30th against the pass in a game featuring a 46.5 point O/U.

WR Jeremy Maclin ($6,900) Look, I get it, there’s nothing particularly exciting about starting Maclin, but he’s in a great position in this contest. The game carries a 48.5 O/U and Oakland is ranked 29th against the pass on the season. Kansas City hasn’t been able to generate much of a pass rush since Lamarr Houston was injured, so they’re going to have to score some points to keep up with Oakland. Finally, the Chiefs aerial attack flows through Maclin and Travis Kelce, so Maclin is a safe bet to get a lot of targets.

TE Delanie Walker ($6,700) Walker is another player who isn’t particularly exciting but in a great position for success. He’s struggled against top defenses but scored 32.4 FanDuel points against Miami and Detroit. Cleveland is not a top defense. Cleveland is ranked 28th against the pass and 30th against the TE position in particular, allowing over 20 FanDuel points a game against the position. And let’s face it, Walker is the best receiver the Titans have.

K Wil Lutz ($4,500) Lutz is at home, in a dome, at minimum price and will be kicking in the highest O/U game on the slate. Don’t over complicate selecting a kicker.

DST Buffalo Bills ($4,800) As I mentioned in the write-up on Tyrod Taylor, the 49ers offense is a disaster waiting to happen. They travel east for a 1PM game (always a recipe for disaster for west coast teams) with Kaepernick making his first start of the season. The Bills have been playing well defensively as well, allowing only 35 points in their last 3 games, while accumulating 12 sacks and forcing 9 turnovers during that span.
