Lots of Talent still available as Pitchers and Catchers Report

Jake Arrieta, J.D.Martinez, Eric Hosmer, Yu Darvish, Mike Moustakas are all awaiting big paydays as spring training gets underway. These names are the most highly touted out of the many that still remained unsigned. The case that has created the most buzz to date has been right fielder J.D.Martinez. Reports are that he is asking for a boatload, which is no surprise as he remains one of the leagues best hitters. The Boston Red Sox remain linked to the all-star.

Last year with the Diamondbacks, Martinez put up his usual 300/320-30 hr plus/100 rbi plus type slash line. The Sox seem to be set in the outfield and the platoon of Mitch Moreland and Hanley Ramirez are to be entrenched at first base/DH. Unless they are willing to move an outfielder to make room it’s hard to see a deal being made. We all know if anybody can afford him it would the Red Sox organization.

Other names of note include: Jonathan Lucroy(catcher), Jose Bautista(right field/d.h.), Carlos Gonzalez(right field), Mike Moustakas(3rd base), Eduardo Nunez(infield/outfield), Neil Walker(2nd base), Carlos Gomez(outfield), and of course Eric Hosmer(1st Base).
