MLB DFS Lineup Advice for Draftkings and Fanduel – 4/27/16
//
It was Ace Day yesterday, so today’s pitching is considerably weaker. That being said, there are still some top guns and with some weak pitchers some great offenses to target. Let’s dig in…
Top Pitchers
Jake Arrieta (DK – $13,800, FD – $12,900) – If you faded Arrieta the last time out because of his price tag, he made you pay for it with his no hitter. The strikeout upside hasn’t been that of Kershaw, Scherzer, or Sale, but he’s been just as dominant. Others will make the argument again that his price is too high and he’s just not the right value. But in cash games, he offers a great chance at 30+ points on DK and 50+ points on FD. He’s about as safe as they come for cash games.
Gio Gonzalez (DK – $9,600, FD – $9,400) – The sample size is small, because it’s April, but the Phillies have been atrocious against LHP this year with a .242 wOBA (29th) and 33.8% strikeout rate (30th). And they weren’t much better last year. Gio has been solid over the last year with a 3.72 SIERA and 22.7% strikeout rate, making his a strong play in cash games today.
Steven Wright (DK – $6,900, FD – $6,000) – Regression is likely coming for Wright and his 1.40 ERA considering he has a 4.17 SIERA, but it likely won’t be in this matchup against the hapless Braves. Wright has been solid in his three matchups against Toronto (twice) and Houston, two of the better offenses in baseball. Against the struggling Braves, he’s a tremendous value in all formats.
Top Hitters
David Ortiz (DK – $4,600, FD – $3,500) – Ortiz sat out the last two games at Turner Field and now gets a weak righty in Bud Norris at Fenway. Ortiz has a .410 wOBA and .308 ISO against righties this year, which is slightly down from his .413 wOBA and .320 ISO against them last year. Norris struggles against righties and lefties, putting all red sox in play, but allowed a .385 wOBA to LHH last year. Ortiz is a lock today in cash.
David Peralta (DK – $3,800, FD – $3,500) – Adam Wainwright has been getting ricked this year and appears to not be fully recovered. There are lots of top flight options in the outfield today, but Peralta offers great value with the platoon advantage against a struggling pitcher in hot Arizona.
Enrique Hernandez (DK – $3,100, FD – $2,700) – The Dodgers get a weak lefty today, meaning Hernandez should get a spot at the top of the order. He’s dirt cheap on both sites, making him a great value today at a punt play price.
